In the eyes of God
We be just men
challenging the storms
to create a world with our own pen
We wear mask of different colors
To appease and bless our honors
In the eyes of God
We have fought with all our might
In search of victory against the odds
Stuck between path to victory yet to bright
We are only late for homecoming—
Our strife continues to bless us back home.
In the eyes of God
We are just children journeying to a promised land
Where we may hunger no more, or bless disputes with sword
Hell lives within our belly—not our minds
We rise above pain
Forgetting we were ever broken at South
We sleep to rise
And rise to sleep again
Enemies within threatened to break us
Engaging us in constant struggle with the "self"
Find in me a poet who writes
For I made peace with my loss.
