Chapter 7: The Long Road to Recovery

When I woke up I almost pinched myself because I was in a hospital room and my mate was asleep in the chair across from me. When he noticed that I was awake he jumped up and hugged me causing me to wince in pain.

He quickly pulls back and says "I'm so sorry babe I didn't mean to hurt you." As he looks down and tears fill his eyes "it's ok my love I'm ok please don't cry."

I say as I grab his hand and put it on my cheek. "You wouldn't be in this pain if I would have just kept you safe." He says putting my hand on his tear stained face 

"No my love don't say that, what happened to me had nothing to do with that." I say caressing his cheek. He looks at me and kisses me softly "I love you so much" He says pulling away from the kiss. I smile and say "I love you too."

He kisses me one more time before someone walks in "Good Morning sleeping beauty" a familiar voice says. When I turn to see who it is I open my arms for a hug "Hey Bobby" I say as I hug him "Hey Lidia me and Alex missed you so much." He says sitting opposite of Everett.

"Where is Alex?" I ask, wondering why my bestie wasn't here to see me. Bobby smiles brightly and says "she's at the doctor's office to make sure that the twins are healthy." He says happily. "W...what???" I say completely stunned. "Alex is pregnant." Bobby says, still smiling like a fat kid in a candy store.

I scream in excitement and hug Bobby tightly. "Omg I can't believe it. I'm so excited for you guys and I can't wait to be an aunt." I say pulling away from him. "Congrats you two." Everett says as he holds my hand tightly while he smiles.

"Well I should get going, I'll see you guys later." He says as he walks away. I smile and kiss Everett softly "so when can I get out of here?" I ask. "I'll go talk to the doctor and see when we can get you home." He says smiling as he walks out of the room to find the doctor.

While I'm sitting waiting for him I hear a loud crash in the hall and a male voice yelling. I get up to see who it was and to see if I might know them. When I get into the hall I'm shoved against the wall by a tall skinny dude that's bold.

When my body realizes what's going on everything goes red and I push the man away, slam his head into the door, throw him against the wall like he weighs as much as a small baby doll, and rips his throat out with my teeth. Once my vision goes back to normal I blackout.

~Everetts pov~
I hear a loud crash from Lidia’s room so I run to make sure she's alright. When I get there I see Lidia passed out on the floor and some guy with his throat ripped out laying dead across from her.

I yell for a doctor and one runs in and has the nurses carry Lidia back to her bed so he can assess her. "She's going to be fine alpha. She just passed out from all the strain on her body." He says as he begins to walk out the room "wait doctor will she still be able to go home tomorrow?" I ask hoping he says yes.

"Yeah she should be able to." He says walking away. I smile and sit down next to her again and hold her hand.
~End of Everetts pov~

When I wake up I see that Everetts gone and I start to panic. I look for him in my room and before I walk out a nurse comes in and says "Luna you need to get back in bed."

"Where is he?" I ask, starting to throw things at her. "Luna, please calm down. Alpha will be here any minute." She says as she puts her hand on my arm so she could lead me back to the hospital bed. But when she touched me I just saw Austin and my vision went red again so in that moment I punched her and sent her flying across the room.

I was about to continue beating the shit out of her but right as I got to where I had thrown her Everett came into the room and stopped me by hugging me tightly and saying "it's ok love I'm here. I'm not going anywhere." As I felt his arms around me and his voice my vision went back to normal and I started bawling my eyes out into his chest.
