Clan Differences

Ok so we all know the huge problem with Warriors is that each clan is the same. They are too alike. My first thought was how can I make the clans so different that if a clan cat went to another clan, they be confused until they settle in. All these ideas come from canon books and how I think they should be.

Thunderclan

Are they so good and nice like we are led to believe? Nope. They seem friendly from the outside but to be honest they seem to be really mean. They ran out not one but two apprentices. Yeah Ravenpaw left cuz of Tigerclaw but there lies the issue. They hold their high ranking members in such high regards that no one would question them. Like they knew Ravenpaw since he was a kit, yet believed Tigerclaw lies about him being a traitor. No one even questions it, not even his brother Dustpelt. And they put so much emphasis on blood it not even funny. Once Tigerclaw got exile, they start thinking both of his kits was going to be evil cuz of him. They just ignored Goldenflower contribution to the bloodline. Tawnypelt got so tired of being judged, she left to join ShadowClan. So going to keep that in my fanfic, except instead of tawnypelt, it going to be Bramblestar that going to join ShadowClan. Just want to separate him from Squirrelflight cuz obviously that pairing just doesn't work and it too forced.

Religion: Unlike the other clans, they will do whatever it takes to make the prophecies come true. Even break the warrior code. We see this with Goosefeather. The medicine cat forced him to be an apprentice at the age of four moons. Dude didn't get a chance to be a normal kit when he reveal his "Gift." They didn't give him a choice either. Like you are meant to be a medicine cat, it what Starclan wants. He wanted to be a warrior. Bluestar chose Firestar just cuz of the fire alone will save the clan. You might argue she was going to ask him to join regardless but fact is that gave her the extra push. She also rush his training as well. He been training for two moons and a few days before he became a warrior. No wonder both Dustpelt and Sandstorm was angry. They was both older and been training for way more moons. Even firestar himself fall into this when Ivypool told him about her "dream." On an apprentice word, cuz he thought she was having visions from Starclan, he fought ShadowClan over that useless strip of land. They won't question anything if it came from Starclan, not even arguing when Starclan treat them roughly. Leafpool whole trial is a huge example of this. Starclan told her to follow her heart. She left with Crowfeather cuz she followed her love of him. Then Spottedleaf calls her stupid for doing so, despite her being the one to tell her to follow her heart. So yeah going to keep their way of following Starclan with no question and even breaking the warrior code to make the prophecies happen in my fanfic.

Society: They seem to be awake during dawn/day. They hold high ranking warriors in high esteem. You see this with Tigerclaw and how much power his words holds. Even Bluestar didn't listen to her prophecy cat and took a huge hit from his betrayal. They also never suspect anything is wrong until Tigerclaw betrayal comes to light. Or seem to use critical thinking skills either though I'm sure that was more a writing choice than story. Hmm Bluestar kits have been taken by a badger/fox. What was their names? Mistykit and Stonekit? RiverClan got two new kits with the same name too. Yup nothing weird here. Despite Mistyfoot look so much like our leader. They also put so much on bloodline too. Hence them thinking Tigerstar kits will turn out evil. Geez elders great job chasing away one of our apprentices. We also see this when Goosefeather read a vole fur and the clan went to attack WindClan cuz of it. Even trying to mess with their herbs. They also don't treat their disabled warriors well. Blind? Maybe you should go in the elders den. What that? you good with herbs? Go be a medicine cat. Have an injured leg? Medicine cat. Have anxiety? Not going to help you through it. Starclan chose you to be a medicine cat. It not our choice or even yours. Have one eye. Maybe she should be in the elders den from now on. Oh Cloudtail you taught her how to work with one eye. Warrior then. yeah you either be in elders den or medicine cat. On the Wiki it says they are a mostly peaceful clan so keeping that in. Also that they take in loners and cats that need help but that only happens cuz of Firestar. They also don't allow their apprentices to eat on hunting patrols and to wait until the elders and queens have eaten. Only on border patrols they can eat what they catch. so they let their apprentices starve until they get back to camp. Seems to be the only clan i read about that does this.
