Gus looked anxiously as Luz climbed a broken pillar to see where The Collector and King had gone after the horrid game the god made the townsfolk play, she said something about going to the archives and turns towards the group confidently.
Suddenly a familiar voice could be heard in the distance, trashing their plans,
The group looked up to see and saw Skara, Barcus, and the last person Gus would suspect; Mattholomule
" BECUASE YOU GUYS ARE LOSERS " Mattholomule yelled out, making a L towards them. Gus couldn't believe his eyes, after so long, after so many months, he finally gets to see him again
" MATTY ! " Gus called out to him. Mattholomule looked down to see who called his name, his eyes widened in shock when he realized who it was,
" AUGUSTUS ?! " Mattholomule yelled. And as quickly as he could he conjured rock pillars to safely get down from the building he was on. The two with him followed behind,
He reached where he wanted to be and swiftly hugged Gus, Gus returned the reunion hug,
" Since when did this become a thing? " they could hear Luz in the background asking, however both took no notice. Mattholomule pulled away from the hug and suddenly looked very angry, Gus laughed nervously.
" where have you been?! " Mattholomule yelled shaking the poor boy, " I have been looking for you everywhere! You don't know how many times i lost hope and thought you were turned into a puppet! Or is this just an illusion, " he slapped Gus, making sure. at this Camilla broke the two apart.
" Now I don't know who you are, but you shouldn't hit Gus, he has done nothing wrong, " She said sternly, shaking her head
" Oh yes he has! I've been worried sick! And now he suddenly shows up out of nowhere?! And still hasn't explain himself " Mattholomule growled through gritted teeth, Gus's eyes widened in surprise,
" oh, I didn't realize you were worried about me, I'm sorry "
" Of course I would be worried, my best friend vanished with no trace after the day of unity! Which I may remind you, was a sickening day! " mattholomule yelled. Gus got out of Camilla's grasp and held out his arms,
" I'm sorry Matty, I didn't have a choice to leave, and if it makes you feel any better, there was not one day where I didn't wish you were there next to me, " Gus said with a painfully smile. Mattholomule looked distressed but quickly went in for the hug, unlike the one prior, this one was truly genuine. Gus felt the smaller boy grip tightly, fearing to let go as if there was a chance he would leave again. He was shaking, and he was sure he heard him sniff,
no matter how much Mattholomule insulted Gus of made fun of him, no matter how many arguments they get into, or if Gus feels like breaking their friendship due to how toxic it was, there was no denyin,
Both still cared for the other,
