/ the next day /
( The Bridgertons and the Hatchers are having a picnic together )
( And Charlotte brought the children as well )
Charlotte: be careful and make sure you don't ruin your dress
( Then the children ran away with their nannies following them )
Violet: they're growing very fast
Charlotte: I know
William: and very good with promises
Violet: promises?
Charlotte: well, he promised them that he'll read them 3 bedtime stories in one night that's why he couldn't attend the ball.
Benedict: never promise them anything haha
William: I will not haha
( Harriet and Edmund returned catching their breath )
Edmund: can I have a drink mother?
Charlotte: here, Harriet dear come let me fix the ribbon on your hair
( The nannies were wiping their sweat all over their faces, little Charlie almost 4 months old is with his uncle Benedict in his stroller )
( The Bridgertons was just relaxing when berbrooke interrupted )
Nigel: Bridgerton!
( He yelled his face was full of scars and has a black eye looks like he had a fight with someone )
Berbrooke: I bring cheerful news, Bridgertons. I have taken matters in my own hands
Charlotte: Take them away
( Charlotte told the nannies to take the children away since it's a adults matter, little Charlie was taken as well )
Berbrooke: and sought a special license for my wedding to miss Bridgerton.
Daphne: there is to be no wedding.
Charlotte: I think you have it wrong, Anthony already told you that the arrangement is canceled.
Violet: lord berbrooke, you look in a great deal of pain. Shall we continue this in a more private location?
Berbrooke: I require no further conversation. Though, perhaps I am finally speaking to the true head of the Bridgerton house. For if it were you.
( He looked at Anthony )
Berbrooke: I imagine you would have instructed your sister to take better care than to encourage certain attentions while alone with me on the dark walk at Vauxhall. Of course, mere hearsay of such a scandal could wreak havoc on even the most influential of families.
What would someone like say, lady whistledown do with such unseemly information?
Anthony: is that a threat?!
Berbrooke: it is certainly not. Because in three days, I am to marry. I have the diamond of the season. I have the very best the ton has to offer. I have a Bridgerton. And is shall save her, as well as your entire family, from the ruin which you could not protect them.
Charlotte: you are not to marry my sister
Berbrooke: it's too late
William: are you disobeying the word of a countess and I believe this family has an Earl
( Simon was about to approach berbrooke but Benedict and William grabbed him in time )
Berbrooke: I look forward to the union of our great families. Bridgerton. Hastings.
( Berbrooke left )
Charlotte: what a picnic
- Bridgerton residence -
( Charlotte went upstairs to Daphne's room, she saw her throwing away all the flowers that her suitors gave her in a basket that Rose was holding )
Charlotte: Rose, could you leave us for a moment
Rose: yes, ma'am
( Rose left, Charlotte held Daphne's hand and they both sat down on her bed )
Charlotte: I have told you to believe that marriage is the best that life has to offer, and that remains true. But it is not simply a partner that marriage provides. You will have comfort and a house to tend, and most importantly, children.
You will throw yourself into raising your family, and you will find much joy. I am certain.
Daphne: Mama and Papa, you and William, the four of you were so beautiful, sister. That is what I wanted. That is all I hoped to one day find.
Charlotte: and you will, I promise
( Charlotte hugged Daphne as she started tearing up )
