Love or Friendship

Chapter 1

Khaleesi's POV

Me and Ariana have been friends since kindergarten. We wouldn't have met each other if Ari had not decided to be my partner for the egg parenting assignment. Since then, we have been besties.
I have always been the shy type, and to be honest, Ari is my only friend since she is the only one I can talk with freely.

But Ari has lots of friends she is the 3rd most popular girl in school, Lisa and Kyra are still fighting for 1st, but I'm not really bothered about that. I'm only worried about how I'm gonna get through the 2 yrs I have left of school without running into Lisa, Kyra or Bella.

"Khalee, you're gonna be late if you don't get out of bed now."

"I'll be down in a minute," I shouted as loud as I could so she could hear me.

I picked up my bag from my bedside and walked downstairs. Yep, I didn't run knowing damm well, I will be very late. I took an apple, picked up my key, and left home for school.

I was late, and I got a 45-minute detention after school. I was lucky Ari was also late, so I didn't have to walk into class alone. But I had to walk with Ari's friends which meant I had to walk with Bella. She is actually the mean girl in my life she hates me like a lot and she actually told Ari to stop talking to me but me and Ari have been friends since forever so some mean chick can't get between us,nothing can ever get between us.

"Ugh, why is Queen of the dragons walking with us?" Bella said rolling her eyes at me. I really hate it when people use my name as a cause to bully me. It might be a weird name to them I think it's a unique name because I haven't met people with that name apart from knowing 'Khaleesi Daenerys' she's an icon.

"Hey Bella, quit it," Ari snapped at her.
It took me a few minutes to realise we had passed my bio class, and Ari and her friends were actually skipping. I didn't want my mum to be called in, so I decided to go back to class.

"Um, guys, I'm gonna get back to class now," I said while everyone turned around to look at me.

"No one actually wanted you to come with us," Bella said, giving me dirty looks

"I'll just get going now," I said, walking away, I wanted Ari to walk with me, but as usual, she skipped with them. I eventually had to walk into class on my own. Obviously everyone turned around to look at the person who walked into the class but everyone just looked away after realising it was just the stupid quiet girl, I was more hurt than happy with the way everyone reacted.

The day went by fast, but there was no sign of Ari during break and lunch, so I was alone throughout the whole day. It's not like I'm not always alone, but I just felt really lonely today.

It was the end of school but I had to go to the sports hall for my detention. The best thing that happened today was Mr. Platt had me sit next to Ethan, my hallway crush. He is a straight A student super hot and plays basketball. I've had a crush on him since I was in year 7, and he was in year 8, i don't think he was as excited as I was when I found out we were sitting next to each other.

I kept on staring at him throughout the whole of detention he was sleeping, so I didn't get caught.The 45-minute detention of what felt like hours finally ended. Ethan was still asleep. I wanted to tap him, but he raised up his head, looked at me, and walked out. 'His eyes are so pretty,' I thought to myself.

I got home to meet a man and a boy in my living room, then my mum came out of the kitchen smiling like she had just won a lottery.

"Sweetie, this is Matthew, the guy I told you about and his son Caleb." What is this again?

"So you mean I have to call him dad?" I said with a disgusted look.

"No! honey if you are not comfortable with that then you don't have to" I am happy my mum moved on from my dad, because she was really messed up when my dad divorced her, but bringing a man and his son into our house was really weird for me to see when I just got home from school. I spotted some suitcases at the corner of the living room.

"Wait, so are they going to live with us?" I asked her, turning my direction to the boy who looked like he didn't really care about what was happening.

"Yeah, but just for the time being until he finds a place, okay? So, Caleb is going to take the guestroom, and Matthew will be with me," she said with somewhat a smirk on her face.

"Ew," I said, walking away to my room.
I wanted to call Ari and tell her that I probably have a step dad and step brother, but I just didn't feel like telling my best friend that I've been friends with for years this little thing. I am realising that we are two different people with different personalities and - The knock on my door snapped me out of my thoughts, then my mum barged into my room.

"Mum! how many times will I tell you it doesn't count if I don't say come in?" I snapped at her.

"Sorry love, I just wanted to tell you Caleb will be going to your school so -"

"What does that have to do with me?"

"He's a new student and won't have many friends, so I thought you could get to know him while spending time with him at school."

"Huh?, mum, I don't care, just leave. I wanna be alone," I said to her.

"Okay, okay, we will continue this conversation tomorrow morning".I rolled my eyes and laid down on my bed.

I opened my phone gallery, scrolling through the pics of me and Ariana, remembering our memories and how things used to be before now. Things came running through my head.'Am I clingy, Is Ari getting tired of me? But then it came to me that we might just be growing apart.
