An awkward encounter. Minjeong and her parents haven't kept in contact for 3 years and not a sign of Minjeong coming back for her belongings since the day she left home.
She wanted to forget what happened 3 years aho, finding the adventure in her life.
She didn't regret though, after what happened on New Year's Day she still disliked her parents for that. She's always disliked her parents.
Seeing them here was an unpleasant feeling.
"Minjeong."
"Mom, dad."
"How are you, dear?"
"Why are you here?" Minjeong asked.
"Well we came here with a friend of ours, little did we know we'd see you here." Her parents eyes trailed over to look at the other three except the hint of disappointment in their expressions was shown.
Her mother looked over at Karina.
"Hi, Mr and Mrs. Kim." Jimin forced a smile. The younger girl's parents nodded at her and looked back at Minjeong.
"Seems like you're doing well after leaving."
"I am." Minjeong gulped the last bit of her wine.
"Nothing's troubling you?" Minjeong glares over at her parents as if she new they were hinting at something.
"Mom, dad? if you think I want to come back you're wrong."
"So stop asking." In return they scoff at their daughter.
"We never asked if you wanted to come back."
"Ok then leave me alone." Minjeong snapped. Maybe it was harsh, but she hates how her parents were push overs.
"Can we have a little talk Minjeong?" Her mother asked. She was clearly holding her temptations back.
By the time Minjeong got pulled out of the restaurant for a little chat, all anger broke loose almost immediately.
"Did you forget who I am? did you forget who me and your father are?" The lady snapped.
"No, and why do you have a problem with me?"
"Minjeong, you're changing each day into a different person." Her mom worried.
"You're not who you were anymore. You loved us, you loved your parents." The sound of pure despair was surely there, and Minjeong couldn't care less.
"But you guys never loved me." The younger girl grits.
"I loved you both with all that I possibly can and you wouldn't even love me for what I am anymore."
"Those people are changing you." Her mother spoke.
"Not everything stays the same." Minjeong glares before attempting to walk back into the restaurant.
"Break up with her."
"What?"
"You heard me. I can't afford seeing you change any longer." Ms. Kim strictly stood.
"You and dad let me live a life with her what do you mea-"
"If you can't love both your parents and her at the same time, don't even bother dating her anymore." Another voice shots at her.
Her father crossed his arms as he looks at her from behind.
It seems to be the most ridiculous things that her parents say that gets her pissed every time.
"This is bullshit!" Minjeong yelled.
"Don't use that word against us!"
"What is with you guys? Let me live my life!" She could feel a vein in her head ready to burst.
"I'm giving you a warning. If you don't break up with that girl we'll move you overseas." Her father's words shot through her chest.
"We'll give you a month, if it's not done we're bringing you overseas."
The numerous chills running up Winter's spine, and the feeling of heat boiling up in her head. Something she would never forgive her parents for.
With that they leave as Minjeong stands there.
__________
The conversation outside ends and Minjeong was left slightly trembling with a nervous feeling.
After a couple of laughs and many anxious feelings, Jimin spots Minjeong waking back to the table with a solemn smile on her face.
Jimin knew all the trouble with Minjeong's parents, and she also disliked it. However she was glad that she was able to live with Minjeong in their new apartment.
"Your parents?" Yeji asked.
"Yeah, sorry about that." She sighed.
"No worries! Seems like you guys don't get along."
"We never did." Minjeong recalls the memories she had with her parents and not a single one of them were good.
"Are you alright baby?" Jimin asked, grabbing onto the younger girl's hand.
"Yeah, I'm fine." She responded, pouring herself another glass of wine.
Jimin didn't see the 'fine' in her eyes. Minjeong wasn't fine.
And just like that Minjeong's mood was ruined the rest of the night. The only thing keeping her up was the numerous bottles of wine she had.
And Jimin. All night.
