You said in your prompt for it to in the Hanahaki's disease general direction but I kinda uhh, went full into it for the chapter.

I tried my hand at very Heavy Angst with this one (sorry if you didn't want that) so be warned. There is also a lot of blood, puke, and Suicidal mentions (not too serious, it's the humorous type but still) so beware.
Probably medical inaccuracies also, since I'm no medic nor ever plan to be, but I tried not to delve too deep in that. So uhh, this also got way out of hand with the word count so... sorry for that.

Kageyama has never related to those comments he hears when he goes out about people wanting to die or not wanting to go on with life, even if it's a joke or a dry remark (like Tsukishima's), because why would you do or want that?
There's a lot to live for, like volleyball, and food, and maybe their families, and, uh... Anyways, Kageyama's sure other people have a bunch of other things they want to do or love, but he doesn't because volleyball is more than enough so why die? It doesn't make sense.
That was the Kageyama of a week ago.
The Kageyama of the present wants nothing more than to die. Well, die painlessly and quickly, because he's sure that the horrible cough he has right now will take care of the dying part for for him, but it's agonizing.
His chest hurts, he can't go a full two hours without coughing, and he feels like there's something stuck on his chest that he just can't get out no matter how much he gags or hits his chest.
Painkillers haven't done shit for him and his throat is so sore that the only thing he's been able to "eat" (if you can even call it that) is some apple puree he bought ages ago, yogurt and warm milk (cold stuff make his throat burn but he has to eat if he doesn't want to dissappear off the face of the Earth and warm yogurt and puree taste atrocious so, straight out-of-the fridge food will have to suffice)
From the first day his teacher sent him home to rest indefinitely ("Take all the time you need, Kageyama-kun, that cough doesn't sound well") he's been in bed, only getting up to go to the bathroom and kitchen. He's pretty sure the teacher told coach Ukai about his cause of absence since he hasn't gotten any calls or messages of him complaining.
What he has gotten though, are messages from his team asking if he's alright, and how he's faring (which is quite bad honestly, but he's never admitting that out loud). Especially from Hinata, who is the one that keeps causing his phones to ping three times per minute. At this point, Kageyama's sure Hinata's barely practicing (if he's even in the gym), just spamming him with notifications.
