CHRIS'S BEDROOM, 2am
Although moments like these are what Bella had spent so long fantasizing about, being in Chris's bed, wrapped up in arms watching a movie together and she loved Harry Potter. But she was struggling to actually enjoy it. She had so much on her mind with her mom and then there was the sneaking around with Chris behind Matt's back she felt so guilty.
But she finally had her chance with Chris, the single chance she had been dreaming of for years and she wasn't prepared to ruin that yet by telling Matt, as bad as it sounded. A part of her believed Matt wouldn't hate her forever if he did find out.
However, Matt and Bella not being friends could ruin the whole group dynamic, ruin Chris's and Matt's relationship and ruin both her relationship with Matt and Chris. She didn't know how long they were going to continue to pretend that it was all fine, but for now they were just "going with the flow."
Bella looked up at Chris, who had a dopey grin on his face as he watched the movie in front of him, she couldn't help but smile at the sight of his smile. When he realised she was looking at him, he looked down to meet her eyes.
"You alright?" He asked and she nodded, Chris frowned in response not fully believing. "You sure, you're very quiet tonight. What's on your pretty mind?"
"Do you think i should speak to my mom?" She asked quietly. He then understood what had her so troubled. He sat up and paused the movie and looked back at her.
"If you believe she's changed and you have that tiny feeling within you that this time round she'll be good, then go for it? It doesn't matter if she fails, this is as much your home as it is mine. You'll have us to lean back on when things gets hard okay? I promise." He said softly, rubbing his thumb over her cheek as she gave him a sad smile. "Go with what you want to do, not what I think you should do."
"And with Matt?" She questioned, watching Chris's face change, wanting to avoid that conflict for as long as possible. "We can't hide it forever Chris. I want to be able to hug you in front of him without feeling wrong to do so. I want to kiss you in front of everyone, the secrets are exhausting." She sighed, she cupped her face in her hands, turning his head to look at her. "I'm scared too, Chris. I don't want to lose Matt."
"It's not that i'm afraid of Matt's reaction, in a way i don't care about what he thinks. What i'm scared of is who you'll choose."
"Who i'll choose? What do you mean by that?"
"Come on, Bella" He sighed "He's obviously going to ask you to choose."
"I wont choose." She told him and he frowned in confusion. "I'd rather lose both of you than one of you, i couldn't cope with that. And i don't think Matt would do that."
"He would do that." Chris protested "He would so do that. I mean who wouldn't be selfish with you. He would be mad but he wouldn't risk losing you. He'd ask us to stop and then make you choose him."
"You think he'd do that?"
"Of course. And that's why i don't want to tell him that just yet. Don't you think i also want to kiss you in front of everyone, to be like this in front of everyone. Maybe if things started differently we wouldn't be here but i still wouldn't change it."
"I wouldn't change it either." She smiled up at him, placing a soft kiss on his lips. "We'll get through it, Chris."
"We will" He whispered, kissing her one more time before they returned back to their movie. Bella felt less stressed and she could finally enjoy the moment and have her mind focused on him and only him.
