Chapter Six

-Draco's POV-

The summer went by quickly just like last year, mainly because I spent most of it with Y/N. We hung out almost every week, and it was pretty awesome. We had a ton of fun, but now its back to stupid school. We had to get all kinds of new books, not to mention the fact that we have a new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher... And nobody even knows who it is! I was sorting through Flourish and Blotts when I saw Y/N and her stupid friends walk in. I payed attention to her only as I hadn't seen her for the last month of summer, and Merlin's beard how did she get so beautiful within a month... Her H/C hair got slightly longer, her smile somehow brighter, and her body slightly curvier. It was like angels has blessed her with their own hands...

She looked up at me almost like she knew I was staring and gave me that beautiful smile,

"Hi Draco!!" she grinned.

"Hello Y/N..."

I wasn't about to call her beautiful in front of those stupid Weasleys and their mudblood friend, but it was true. She was an angel...

Potter came bursting through the door, covered in soot. I assume they had traveled through Floo powder since the Weasleys could afford nothing else. Y/N immediately went to brush the soot off of Potter, and that's when I turned away and continued looking through these dumb books.

-Y/N's POV-

I quickly finished brushing soot and ash off of Harry and then questioned him,

"There you are! How far were you Harry?"

"Oh, uh, not far, just in the alley..." he responded.

"Well, at least you're safe. Now we have to wait!" I exclaimed happily.

"Wait for what?" Ron asked.

"For Gilderoy Lockhart of course!" I giggled.

"The best wizard in the world!" Hermione added.

The room went silent and as soon as it did, I turned around and saw him. The one and only, Gilderoy Lockhart. Gosh, he's dashing... His smile is amazing! We were here for book signings, and I wanted to get mine as soon as possible. We only had so much time in Diagon Alley, and I saved enough Galleons to buy a cat! I wanted to have enough time to choose one, so hopefully this would be quick.

Of course as soon as I thought this, Harry got taken up front with Gilderoy and a few pictures were taken. Harry got the entire set of his books for free just for being there, which I admit I was kind of jealous of. He then quickly started signing, and everyone scrambled into a line. Mrs. Weasley took me and Hermione's books, saying she would get the signed for us.

"Are you sure Mrs. Weasley? I don't mind waiting." I replied.

"Yes I'm sure dear, now go get your things together!"

All five of us promptly walked away, getting cut off by Draco.

"Well well well, it seems Potter can't even go into a bookshop without making the front page!"

"Draco..." I trailed.

"Leave him alone!" Ginny argued.

"Oh look Potter, you've got yourself a girlfriend!"

Draco's father came in and put his cane on Draco's shoulder, pushing him aside.

"Don't be rude Draco... well isn't this a surprise? Hello there Miss L/N."

"Hello Mr. Malfoy." I whispered.

"Lucius, please. We've known each other for years, haven't we darling?"

"Ah, right, yes sir."

Draco's father might not have been my own father, but he was the closest I've ever had to one. Yes he intimidates the hell out of me, but he's all I have.

"Well, if it isn't Mr. Harry Potter. Your story is legend." Lucius continued.

He grabbed Harry by his shoulder and pulled him a bit closer so he could examine his scar.

"My apologies Mr. Potter, I had to see for myself..." He smirked.

Next, Mr. Weasley came over. I had a feeling that this was going to get heated very quickly.

"Hello Lucius, what brings you here?" Mr. Weasley spoke.

"Oh just browsing, if you will..." he replied.

"Well then, if that's all, then me and my children must be going. Come on kids, lets go."

"Ah, I believe Miss L/N will be coming with us." Lucius said.

"Right, sorry everyone, I did say I would be heading back with Draco's family."

I really never said that, but I just wanted the tension to go down. I walked over to Draco and kissed his cheek before walking out with him and his father.

"Wait! Before we go back to the Manor, I wanted to get a cat!" I whined.

"Alright then, Draco escort her there and I will wait here."

Draco and I walked hand in hand to the shop, where there were at least twenty cats to choose from.

"Oh gosh I don't know which to pick! Draco what do you think?" I sighed.

"I don't think it really matters, as long as its not going to bother me while I study..."

I giggled and then eventually chose a gorgeous calico cat with shimmering green eyes. I paid and then we walked back to his father where he was waiting patiently.

"There you two are. Well that is a lovely cat, if I may ask, have you named it?" Lucius said.

"Well, not officially, but I think I'm going to name her...

...Sage."
