"Hi" You smiled as you walked past the front area.
You headed to the backroom and out your bag in one of the cubbies before placing on your apron. You took a deep breath and prepared yourself for the long shift ahead. You grabbed a clean rag and started to wipe down the counters and chairs before the small restaurant opened. You swept the floors, polished the windows, and wiped down the tables.
Finally, you were ready for the day. You took a few minutes to check your phone as you felt a few notifications. You opened up messages to see a worker had cancelled their shift for today and today was one of the days the store was busy.
Opening your work group chat, you messaged the group
Y/n💫:Can anyone come in to cook, Dae can't make it delivered at 3:30pm✓✓

Hao🐸: No problem, I'm heading to the shop now
Smiling at your phone, you put it in your pocket and started getting some drink chilled before the store opens. After a few minutes, the store bell rings and you look up to see Minghao.
"annyeonghaseyo yeorobun" He greeted as he entered the shop in which you both greeted back laughing before he headed in the back to put his things away before cooking.
He came back out shortly after and started prepping the ingredients for the day. You two exchanged small talk while he was in the back, catching up on each other's lives and the events of the past week.
He smiled as he worked, seemingly content in his own little world. Minghao seemed to be in his element as he worked, content in the familiarity of the kitchen and the calming rhythm of preparing ingredients. He was clearly comfortable talking to you and at ease, smiling as he went about his tasks.
As time flew by it was time for the store to open and boyyy was there a line outside the restaurant. The line was filled with excited customers, all eager to try the restaurant's signature dish Xiaolongbao.
Xiaolongbao, often called soup dumplings, is a type of Chinese steamed bun. It is filled with pork, broth, and other ingredients, and is usually served in a bamboo steamer. The broth inside the dumpling is typically made from pork or chicken, which surprisingly attracted lots of customers.
Time went by and the store kept filling up with noise being heard from all directions. It was really busy and there was a big takeout order so today was no joke.
"Minghao, are the dumplings up yet?" You ask as you come back with a tray of plates.
"They're uppp..... now here" He said as he put more in the steamer
"Order 143, Xiaolongbao and Springs rolls?" You shouted through the crowds before someone came up and got their dumplings.
The rest of the night went exactly like that going back and forth through the shop. You wondered how you didn't catch a headache from the noise but you guessed it was from being used to shop. It was at it's peak hour anyways.
You were exhausted but still felt content with the work you had done. You had managed to finish the job on time and with minimal mistakes.
Once the store closed, you would think that the struggle died down? No, it did not. The dining area was a mess and there was piles of dishes still not done washing yet.
There was 4 of you left at the store so you had each decided to split up into two groups to get the job done. You and Minghao did the dished while Suni and Hyunmin did the dining area.
"I'm not scrubbing" Minghao stated
"Well I'm not either" You said back
"Scissors paper rock?" He suggested
"Best out of three"
✂️📄🪨...It was in intense battle, in the end
He lost🐸
So he was scrubbing the dishes while you rinsed them and out them away. It was a routine they had established. He hummed quietly as he worked, and she smiled to herself, content with the rhythm they had found before you both started singing in which you could acknowledge, you weren't the best in the area. but Minghao...speechless.
He laughed at the both of you, shaking his head fondly before joining in himself. As you all sang together, the atmosphere in the kitchen was warm and inviting, and Minghao felt more relaxed. Time went by and you both were soo carried away in singing that you hadn't noticed you finished the dishes.
"Hao plate" You said
"Were fininshed"
"FiNaLlY" You both said.
You both quickly rushed to take off you apron before realing that Suni and Hyunmin were gone but had left a note in which Minghao read out loud

You both blushed after it being read before heading to the back to pack up. As you were about to leave, you heard a voice catching up to you.
"Wait y/n before you go, I saved some dumplings for you" He smiled as he handed them to you
"Thankyou hao" You smiled back
You both headed outside the store and locked up before you left but again, you heard a suprising question
"Do you wanna... go on a date with me Y/n" He spoke quietly
"Sure" You blushed
"Okay I'll text when and where he smiled" before hugging you.
"Bye Hao"
"Bye bao" He smiled as he pecked your cheek before running away
"YAH!-"
