"Come on Soojin, you've gotta wake up or you'll be late" I encouraged the child to wake up but still...nothing
"Teacher Boo will be mad if you don't go to school~" I tried once again and she woke up.
"oh no mommy, dress me qwick " She squealed as she jumped out of her bed, freaking out.
I gave have a shower before dressing her up and putting her hair in a neat bun. Soojin loved school, but she really loved her teacher. To be honest, I think she likes him more than me, her own mother...
Nahh, that can't be possible.
Wait...
No no no, anyways, Soojin was quick to put on her shoes before heading downstairs to the living room where her little butterfly backpack laid on the chair awaiting her. I quickly grabbed my coat and grabbed my keys before getting out side and putting Soojin in her seat.
"Jinne, make sure you listen in class okay?"
"Okay eomma!"
"What will you do if someone is mean to you" I asked
"Tell the teacher " she answered
Soojin had moved to this new school as she was getting bullied in her previous school for not having a father. When they would bully her, she would just stay quiet and not tell anyone. I only found out because I witnessed it myself.
I regret my past lover, he abandoned me when he found out I was pregnant with her, he tried to get me to abort her which I wasn't going to do and when he realized I wasn't giving her up, he gave up and left. It was a dumb thing to do but I received a beautiful gift, in which I am grateful for.
I was scared and hurt at the time, but now I know that his leaving was for the best. I was able to keep my daughter and raise her on my own, and I wouldn't have been able to do that if he had stayed. I'm thankful for the experience and the gift that I was given.
We had gotten to Soojin's school and I had walked her to class. I gave her a hug and a kiss before she went in but she suddenly stopped and dragged me inside her class.
"Techer Boo, this is my eomma!" She smiled as she pulled me near the male
"Hello" I greeted. This was my first time meeting him as they had recently had a change in teachers, I only knew him through Soojin's stories.
"Hello, I am Boo Seungkwan, Soojin's new teacher" He beamed
"How is Soojin going in class?" I asked
"She actually going quite well in class and Is really intelligent. Also an event is coming up. If i'm not wrong, next week Thursday is bring you dad to school day, So I am eager to see her father" He smiled
"Soojin, doesn't have a father..." I said looking
"OH!... I'm extremely sorry" He apologized feeling bad
"It's okay teacher Boo, I don't need my appa, I only need eomma in my life" Soojin smiled at me
"Well, you are still welcome to come" He smiled at me
"Thankyou...well I've got to get going to work, Bye Mr. Boo, Bye Jinne" I said before heading of the class quickly.
As I got in my car, i cried. Hearing that from Soojin just made my day, I though I was a bad mother I was so touched by her words. I realized how lucky I was to have such a caring daughter. I was filled with joy and gratitude.
I had always felt guilty about not being able to be there for my children but Soojin's words made me realize that I had done my best and that was enough. I wiped away my tears and drove away, feeling grateful for the moment.
Hours turned into days it was Bring your dad to school day. The day I slowly dreaded.
"Jinne, are you sure you want to go to school today" I asked her being worried
"Yes eomma, I have to be there everyday!" She smiled
"Jinne~ do you know what today is?" I hesitated
"Yes eomma, you're the only one I need you know that" She said while putting a bow in her hair
"Now lets go to school!" She squealed as she dragged me out of the schools parking lot.
We walked in and received looks from kids and parents but Seungkwan just smiled as we entered.
