On the hunt

Present day

Nova and Danny were on the road. Danny was driving.

Astra lived 7 hours away from their current location.
They'd be there by the next day.

Danny drove all night and let nova sleep.

He smiled at her as she slept. He thought to himself 'how can someone be so beautiful'.

By the next day they made it.

Danny woke nova up and Danny put on his hoodie while nova put on a hat so that no one could see their faces clearly.

"So where do we start". Danny asked as they walked across the street.

"I have an address, so we start there". Nova said sighing nervously.

Nova and Danny went to the address and walked up the stairs. Nova hesitated for a moment before she knocked.

A woman answered the door.

"Astra you're back where have you been"! The woman said "you look so different".

Nova and Danny looked at eachother then at the woman.

"Uh- actually I'm not Astra I'm her twin sister". Nova said.

"Oh my- come in come in". The woman said.

Danny and nova walked in the house.

Soon they were sitting at the kitchen table drinking coffee. They found out the lady's name was Esther.

"I never knew Astra had a twin sister are you adopted as well"? Esther asked.

Nova was looking at a picture of astra before she snapped out of it and looked at Esther.

"Oh uh yeah". Nova confirmed.

"Wow, splitting twins up like that just horrible". Esther said before taking a sip of her coffee.

"We're actually looking for Astra, do you know where she might be". Danny asked.

"I'm sorry no, she upped and left about a year ago". Esther said.

Nova looked down but deep down she was kind of relieved she didn't have to face her sister.

"I'll be right back". Esther said before getting up.

Danny looked at nova

"Hey, we'll find her don't worry".

Nova looked up and nodded slightly.

Just then the two heard a sound of a gun cocking back. Both turned around to see Esther holding a shot gun at them.

Danny and nova both stood up. Danny got in front of nova.

"Esther put the gun down we're all cool here". Danny said trying to calm Esther.

"I know who you are nova of astrov". Esther said still pointing the gun at them. "You'll never find my daughter".

Nova glanced over to the side and saw a stack of post cards on the counter held together with a rubber band.

"She isn't your daughter, she isn't your family she is mine". Nova said slowly moving in front of Danny.

"Bullshit, she told me what you did I had to stay up with her for a year straight because she had nightmares of what you did"! Esther said.

"I get it, I was a terrible person but I'm not that person anymore". Nova said with her hands up.

"It's too bad you won't live long enough for her to see it". Esther said.

Just then nova quickly grabbed the cup filled with hot coffee and threw it in Esther's face.
