Kanae x F! Reader~Another Lifetime [Request]

You sat on your bed in the Butterfly Mansion, doodling on a notebook. What were you doodling you ask? You doodled Kanae. No, you're not trying to be creepy in any way. She's more of..a muse you can say. Her beauty was ethereal, and drew you in. You don't know how it happened, but you fell for her. But there was one thing you feared...Many people looked down upon people who fall in love with the same gender, you don't want Kanae disgusted by you. That's why you didn't confess. You heard the door slide open as you pondered, revealing the familiar woman that made your heart flutter. "Hey Y/N, Oyakata-sama requested me to tell you that you have a mission. There's me, you, and Mitsuri-chan who's going! It's like a girls night out, just fighting demons!" Her voice was enthusiastic towards it. Your thoughts were full of worry hearing Misturi was going. 

"Y/N-chan, are you interested in anyone, there's many boys here and they're all so cute!" Mitsuri asked you whilst eating sakura mochi. Only one person really came to mind, which made a small smile form on your face. "I am interested in someone. Any guesses on who she is?" "Hmm. They're a girl...Shinobu-Chan?" You shook your head at her guess. She placed a finger on her chin while thinking about all the girls in the Corps. "Me? No. You wouldn't tell me about this if it wasn't me..Ah! Kanae-chan?!" She exclaimed, making you cover her mouth with your hand. "Shush Mitsuri-Chan!" She gasped. "You like Kanae-Chan?! Oh my goodness, you two are such a great match, like a match made in Heaven! You two are perfect, you both talk a lot and I think she obviously shows interest for you!" "Yeah..But y'know how people would look down upon us." You sighed with your head hanging low. "But I'll support it, I don't care." Mitsuri changed her tone to a quieter voice, giving comfort to you. 

The memory made you smile, she was a supporter. You liked that about her. "When's the mission?" You asked. "We're going in a few hours so be ready." You nodded your head as she left you in the room. You sighed, letting out a breath you didn't know you were holding until now. You stood up from your bed and left to prepare for the mission.

Kanae entered your room, checking to see if you were ready for the mission. Sumi and Naho followed behind her. You weren't in the room, you were actually outside but how could Kanae know? Kanae's eyes wandered to your bed, where she saw the notebook you doodled on constantly. Slowly, she walked closer to your bed before she reached down at the notebook and picked it up. The two girls shuffled towards the woman, peeking at what was in the notebook. Kanae opened the book, revealing sketches of herself. A small gasp left her mouth as she flipped through the pages. "It's me.." She murmured. "Kanae-san! Y/N drew those, she's really good at drawing!" Sumi said happily. "Yeah! Oh! And I'd you were looking for Y/N-san, she's outside!" Naho acknowledged. "Ah, thank you girls." She thanked them before heading outside, seeing a familiar H/C girl stretching. "Y/N, I finally found you." She said, catching your attention. "Hey Kanae-san, are you ready?" "Yeah, we're going now, it's a bit of a walk anyways so better to go now than later." She pointed out. "Okay, is Mitsuri-chan ready?" You asked. "She's been ready for the past hour." Kanae let out a short chuckle at the memory of Mitsuri excitedly telling her about how excited she is. "I'll probably tell her later on." She thought to herself.

Sooner or later, the three of you began your trip to the forest the demon was located in. Suddenly, Mitsuri elbowed your arm. "Heyyy Y/N~" She teased you. "Sh." "What are you two bickering about?" Kanae, who was in front of you two, asked. "Nothing." You both synchronized your words. "Y/N. I saw a notebook on your bed earlier, was that yours?" She inquired. Your mind struck at her words. "U-uh, yes it was... did you look through it." Your voice became quieter in embarrassment. "Yes. It's true I did, but only skimmed through it." You let out a sigh of relief but was red from embarrassment. "Those were beautiful drawings I say." She complimented with a smile. At this point, you probably looked like Tanjiro-san's hair. You then came to a sudden stop. "Y/N-chan, why'd you stop?" Mitsuri asked, looking behind at you. Your eyes were locked on a certain bramble in the forest. "There's a demon here. Don't mo-" and just like that, your arm was sliced off in an instant. "What the fuck?!" You shouted, covering your wound with your hand. You looked down on the ground, spotting your once connected arm. I fixed my gaze on the two girls who looked at me in horror. "Run, get out of here!" You commanded them, glancing at the demon who was now visible. You knew it was there, you could feel it's deathly presence near you. "Kanae!" You called her name as you held your sword with your one hand. Mitsuri stopped, watching you two. "Kanae, I just want to say thank you, and you had me head over heels for you, I love you. It's too late now but I love you, I love everything about you, you brought me so much happiness these past weeks, thank you."
