Battling Demons: My Undying Love

The Deal

Desmond and his family were still in their trance as they kept staring at Lucifer in between them and Rio.

"How did you get in here?" Lucifer asked.

Stunned, the family woke up from their trance and took a few steps back.

"We..we came down here for an expedition and.. and there was a sudden opening that brought us here. We are sorry for intruding! We will leave here right this second!" Desmond was scared out of his wits, yet all he could think of was the safety of his family and the first girl his son showed interest in.

"Ease up Desmond." The sweet voice Lucifer spoke with was crazy. It was as if a loving father was comforting his child.

Desmond was now terrified of the being in front of him just as he couldn't bring himself to trust him. A being that can make a vicious monster go on its knees and actually talk so sweetly is definitely not to be trusted.

In all of Desmond's days, he met a lot of people like this in the business world and knew very well how such people enjoyed making deals. But it'll be too rush of him to make a move right now. Any mistake will be at the expense of their lives.

"What a beautiful family you have there Desmond. You've done a good job." Lucifer's warm smile was now looking devilish in the eyes of Desmond. Of course it would be devilish. It's Lucifer we talking about here.

"Thank you sir. But how do you know my name?" Desmond was frightened.

"Let me ask you, does a father not know the name of his children?" Lucifer asked teasingly

Desmond's heart skipped a beat at this point. At least he now knew where he was going after his death.

"Never mind." Lucifer continued, "I actually came here for Damian."

Damian who had been standing beside Desmond protecting the ladies behind him was just as frightened as Desmond. He continuously looked around for exits but to no avail.

"What do you want from me!" Damon yelled.

"How dare you speak on top of your voice to the king!" Rio yelled as well to shut Damian up lest he pushes Lucifer to anger.

"Calm down Rio. This isn't the first time I've been spoken to in a raised tone" Lucifer's indifferent tone and gaze made Rio back off completely.

Rio had indeed yelled at Lucifer which was one of the reasons why he ended up locked up in the depths of the cave.

"Calm down Damian. I just need you to do something for me." Lucifer said calmly once again.

"I will never do anything for you! You can go back to the hell you came from!" Though Damian was scared and spoke without thinking, the only thing that ran through his mind was 'Protect them at all cost'.

"This is why I came here specially for you." Lucifer smiled again, "Even though scared to the bone, you still try to protect those you love, just like your father Desmond."

Desmond turned to look at the courageous boy on his left with a proud smile and advised him to stay calm and listen to what Lucifer had to say.

Damian soon realized he was putting everyone's life at stake even though his intentions are pure.

"If you are done talking it out, may I proceed?" Lucifer asked, again, calmly.

With difficulty but a courageous front, Damian replied "You may."

"Good. I'm interested in your family, the Mills, for two reasons. One, the unique blood that flows in your veins. Two, the offsprings you produce." He said.
