RENFIELD was an ordinary man before he had met Count Dracula and his daughter Countess Maria. Leaving behind his wife and daughter, Renfield stayed with the two vampires under one condition — he would be their familiar. A familiar, in vampire terms, is a servant for life. Surviving off of bugs of any kind, Renfield was content with his life for a couple decades before his master, Dracula, began to seem more like he was using him and less like he was bringing him along for the ride — knowing that Maria could read minds, he ended up telling her how he felt and she laughed it off, saying that his father was merely getting older in age and that he was stuck in the olden days. Protecting the two and doing things for them, Renfield pushed the thought back into his mind before he was faced with the chance of being free from the two — from Dracula. A vampire hunter and a pope(?) appeared early at dawn in the mansion and before they could kill the father and daughter, Renfield saved them.
