A Jurassic Event

Chapter 1

(A/N I'm posting two chapters at first, so you get going in the story, then there'll be a gap next week so I can work on chapter 5 for you [don't want to post all at once and run out of creative juice straining to get a chapter] and after it'll be weekly post unless something comes up or I get writers block. I know I rambled, but I'm done talking now, so let the Jurassic Event begin)

It was a great summer as far as Harry was concerned. He'd just found out in the previous school year that his godfather, who is a wanted criminal, didn't do what people accused him of but could use it against the Durselys to keep them in line. That's when the letter came in "You have a letter boy" Vernon said forcing it into his hands having learned from last time don't keep his letters from him of course Harry was puzzled and looked at who sent it "I don't know a John Hammond" he muttered. Petunia heard him though "Oh that's a cousin of mine...surprised he knows about you" she muttered the last part as Harry opened it "You won't have to deal with me this summer" Harry said after reading it "why" Vernon asked actually curious (for once) "he's invited me to be among the first visitors to a park he made...it specifically says just me though so you can deny and have to deal with me or accept and not have to...of course I can always tell my Godfather about it if you deny as I'd really like to go" Harry said innocently but internally he was cackling 'guess its a good thing I started embracing my Slytherin tendencies' he thought to himself "Reply to the letter saying you accept" Vernon said almost jumping up to give him a pen and paper as Harry walked to his room and wrote the letter and put it in the envelope that it came in but sealed it a different way and put it in the mailbox 'now we wait' Harry thought

He didn't have to wait long as by the end of the week he got a plan ticket to Costa Rica and a note 'tell your friends where you're going and ask them to take care of your pet or pets but bring everything else of yours' John had written in his letter 'and if you're comfortable with it you can call me uncle John' he had written finishing the note as Harry folded it and put it in his pocket going upstairs to write to his friends and ask Hermione to take care of Hedwig "ok Hedwig I want you to stay with Hermione after delivering the letters, go to Ron first then deliver to Hermione and stay ok?" Harry asked as Hedwig nodded and flew off 'time to pack since the flight is 2 days,' Harry thought as he started packing. A couple hours later Hedwig flew back with a letter and Harry took it from her seeing it was from Hermione 'its great you have a relative that doesn't hate you and I hope you enjoy your vacation though if he decides to take you in let me know so I can know if I'm to expect you at Hogwarts or not. after last year I don't blame you if you don't want to return but if you do I'll look forward to hearing about it' she wrote and Harry wrote a reply sending it back and layed down for sleep.

The next morning, Harry was in the kitchen when a knock was heard at the door. Petunia went to get it and after opening the door went to slam it but was stopped "Harry its for you" she spat as Harry walked out and saw Dumbledore "i guess you're about to say I can't have a vacation I'll enjoy" he said actually sounding mad "Harry its dangerous to leave England-" "I've been assured that no human will harm me. I already have the tickets to get there as they were sent in the note after I confirmed, so for once in your life, leave me alone. I'd much rather trust a stranger with my safety than you since every year I've almost died. It's almost like you're letting it happen-" Harry said before stopping as something clicked in his head "you have been letting it happen...it's almost like you've been raising me like a pig for slaughter...I have whatever was in that diary don't I...that's why you've sent me into death every year because you're training me to sacrifice myself...leave" Harry said as he went to shut the door Dumbledore stopping it and pulling out his wand "O-" Dumbledore barely got started before Harry kicked him in the crotch making the wand come out of Dumbledore's hand as Harry caught it and felt a connection to it more powerful than his Holly wand but it felt unrestricted. As if the trace on his Holly wand made itself known in feeling "Harry give me my wand back" Dumbledore said "no...it's chosen me" Harry said pocketing it and shutting the door and locking it "well now that that's taken care of" Harry said Petunia staring at him "You stood up to him..." she said "yeah well he apparently wants me dead at some point in time so" Harry said "I'm gonna go up to my room" he said walking up to it and sitting down pulling out both wands and held them 'I wonder if it'd be possible to fuse the two' Harry thought as he held them in the same hand and Harry closed his eyes but when he opened them he didn't see the two wands. just one about the length of Dumbledore's old wand with the bulbs but at the end it looked like a flame with an ornate looking feather at the end 'and it feels unrestricted' he thought and smiled "one more day" Harry whispered to himself as the day went by and he practiced any spells he was lacking in gaining in proficiency quickly before falling asleep and waking up in the morning and was walking down when there was a knock and Harry got it "are you Harry Potter?" a man asked."Yes?" he said."I'll be your ride to the airport, Mr. Hammond's orders" the man said "alright let me get my stuff" he said heading up stairs and grabbing everything and walking out seeing the limo and his stuff was put in the back and he got in "there is time before your flight so we shall be going to the store to get you some clothes. John expected they'd give you hand offs and gave me his credit card to give to you to buy whatever you want. we shall also be shopping in Costa Rica for warm weather clothes" the man said "Call me David by the way" he said "call me Harry then David" he said nodding "but the clothes will be appreciated" he added "clothes were non-negotiable" David said lightly as they drove to a store in London "get whatever you want and there's no price limit. Spare No Expense as John says, " he said as Harry went and bought 5 entire wardrobes, with leather jackets because hell yeah. Harry payed for it then went to the changing room to change into the new stuff walking out in all black including the jacket "great taste Harry" David said as he walked out "thanks now let's go to the airport shall we" Harry said with a smirk getting in

the ride to the airport was eventful as Harry was introduced to the wonders of modern music. Specifically rock. "BACK IN BLACK I HIT THE SACK BEEN TO LONG IM GLAD TO BE BACK YES IM LET LOOSE FROM THE NOOSE" Harry sang rather loudly while David could only smile "We're here Harry" he said pulling up and parking and leading him to the plane "maybe don't listen to music loudly on the plane" he said with a smile as Harry nodded sheepishly making David chuckle "alright come on you rascal" he said playfully as the door to a private plane opened and Harry walked into it the door shutting behind him as he waved to David and sat down and the plan started to take off and after take off Harry took a nap to make sure he had energy for when he got to Costa Rica

When they landed Harry woke up and a different driver took him shopping for warm weather clothes and he bought some and then went to the meeting area and saw some adults talking and they looked over and saw him as he walked over "hello" he said to them noticing how he and one of the adults were dressed in a similar fashion 'I like him already' Harry thought amused "Who are you kid" the one in the hat asked "Harry Potter cousin of John Hammond granted I only found out about him recently I attribute that to my ever so loving relatives, sarcasm on loving" he said "I recognize Ellie Sattler from a friends reading material as she was on the cover as a renowned paleobotonist meaning you must be the ever elusive Alan Grant while the one in black like me I don't recognize but you say something to do with math as in that guy over there is a blood sucking lawyer" Harry said summing them up making the one dressed like him laugh "I like you kid. Name's Ian Malcom, Chaotician"  he said holding out his hand as Harry took it shaking it "My friend Hermione mentioned you once I just never saw a picture to recognize you" he said "hey can I borrow a phone? I want to call Hermione to let her know how I'm doing." Harry asked Ian, offering his as he called her."Hello?" her voice said through the phone."Hey Hermione, " Harry said. "Harry! how are you, how's the trip so far?" she asked."I'm good. I'm at the airport waiting for the chopper to the island to be ready, so I borrowed Ian's phone to call, " he said."Ian?" she asked."I'll give you a hint to who it is...chaotician," he said, making Hermione gasp. "YOU MET DR. MALCOM?!?" she asked rather loudly."Jeez Hermione, you sound like Ron yelling into it, calling it a fellytone." Harry chuckled "sorry just...wasn't expecting that. the only thing that'd make it better is you met Dr. Grant, Dr. Sattler, and John Hammond, " she said."Met him, met her, he's my cousin far removed but asked me to call him uncle. " he said,"I'm gonna faint, " Hermione said."Don't do that. You'll hurt yourself, or worse, be held back a year, " he teased."Shush you, " she said."Oh choppers ready, got to go, bye, see you when I get back," he said, hanging up as he followed them getting on the chopper handing the phone back to Ian "Thanks Ian" he said "no problem kid" Ian replied with a smile
