i was scared, i mean i wasn't even guaranteed that this launch would be a success let alone going all the way to mars. i got into the shuttle, buckled up and got my helmet on, of course i put my space suit before i got in. it was time.
"Mission Mars 1 is in session"
the head of the crew said into the intercom.
man was i scared.
"Pilot, Are you ready?"
One of the crew said.
"Erh yeah i'm ready"
i said, it was a little complicated seeing as that even from the space shuttle some of the audio would kinda break up and freeze. when some of the audio skipped to "2,1 BLAST OFF" my heart dropped, i needed that extra one second to prepare myself and the extra second of hearing a human voice before i was sent into interstellar space. god knows when will be the next time i talk to a human while i'm in space. my microphone was off.
"fuck fuck fuck i can't do this what am i doing?!-"
it took about 9 minutes to actually get out of the atmosphere, now it was time, instead of going towards the moon which i had done before, which many had done before, i had to go towards somewhere nobody else has done before except
for rovers but let's be real, thats no help. i was looking at all the planets and stars with my telescope, the thought of Jupiter being bigger then earth let alone more then 10x more made me want to throw up, i have a fear to really big things so when i looked at the comparison of Jupiter to earth in a picture and saw that monster of a planet i was doubting myself HARD. i was approaching mars, it was relatively fast but only to me, in earth this would've taken months which haunts me.
"its time"
i took deep breaths trying to calm myself down i finally gathered the strength to go in the intercom.
"i'm right outside mars, i don't know if you can hear me. i'm about to head in, i really hope i do find interesting stu-"
right before i could finish that sentence something, something stopped me? my ship was moving in a very fast motion almost like shaking up and down. i was screaming. i turned the microphone off. now people might think i died but now i have this in my hands, who or what was that?
