"So," Bella looked out at the filled parking lot. "This is Forks High?"

Nell nodded, placing the truck into park. "Yeah," She sighed before pulling her lips into a soft smile.

"Is it terrible?"

Nell grabbed her backpack before sparing a glance over at Bella. "It's high school."

"Fair point." Both girls hopped out of the truck and trudged toward the front door.

"I snagged your schedule from the office before winter break," Nell passed of the yellow piece of paper. "and before you ask, we have English together."

Bella studied her schedule. "Damn," she blew out a sigh. "I was hoping we'd have more together."

Nell adjusted the strap of her backpack, pulling it forward on her shoulder. "We would have biology together last period but I got bumped up to A.P," Nell offered a pitiful smile. She noticed Bella slow her pace as she looked around her. Her fingertips shook lightly as she gripped onto her schedule. "Hey, It'll be okay," Nell reached out and squeezed Bella's shoulder lightly. "How 'bout I eat lunch with you today? Just to have a mid-day check in?"

Bella nodded rapidly. "That would be great."

A figure rushing toward the pair caught Nell's eye: Eric Yorkie, the current eyes and ears of the school. "You must be Isabella Swan!" He beamed, a notebook clutched desperately between his fingers. He looked over quickly at the girl dressed in all black. "Hey Nell," He stammered before looking away.

"Eric Yorkie," She gestured toward Bella. "Meet Bella Swan... Bella meet Eric."

Bella gave a strained smile. "Hi."

"Now you know someone else," Nell leaned down to whisper. "I'll catch you at lunch, and please, don't get hurt before I see you next."

"I'll try," She gulped as she watched Nell walked away from her, her ears tuning out Eric's rambles about being a great shoulder to cry on. Only ten minutes into her first day and she wished she had stayed home; that would make two girls living under Charlie's roof that wished to go home.

Nell found her seat in the back of her history classroom before she started to unpack her supplies. While pulling out her textbook and notebook paper, she watched a red ball-point pen tap the chair next to her.

"Excuse me," A southern accent tickled Nell's ear drums, sending unwanted shivers down her spine. "Is this seat taken?"

Nell flicked her eyes up and away from her backpack. She was met with irises the color of pure gold; the moment their eyes met Nell felt as lightning struck her chest. Her fingertips felt the aftermath tingle that came with such a shock, and she swore she felt the hair on the back of her neck stand. She looked into his eyes and felt things: wilderness kisses, rose buds, and raw honeycomb.
