"Gym wasn't that bad," Emmett commented as he and Nell walked out of the front doors. Rosalie came up to the pair and wrapped her arm around Emmett's waist. "It was actually amazing."

"Nuh uh," Nell shook her head. "It was like the worst."

"You just hate cardio," Emmett teased.

Nell's lips picked up into a smile. "I do-- it's the whole reason I signed up for weight lifting instead of normal P.E, to escape cardio."

"Well based on rotations, you won't have to do cardio again until next Thursday."

"Thank god," Nell waved goodbye to Emmett and Rosalie as they parted ways in the parking lot; walking up to their respective cars. "Hey hey." Nell nudged Bella who had her earbuds in.

"Hey," Bella looked up and Nell watched as her eyes filled with excitement. "I can't wait to get home and tell you what happened today in bio."

Nell chuckled as she looped around to the driver side door. "What, Edward showed up finally?"

"Better! We talked!"

"Wow!" Nell plopped her backpack in the bed of the truck. "Human decency and real interaction? Amazing."

Bella scrunched up her nose at the teasing, pulling out her earbuds completely as she reached for the passenger side door. That's when she heard it. the screeching of tires.

"Bella!" A scream echoed across the parking lot as the silver minivan got closer; the words didn't come from Nell. She wished they had. Instead, Nell felt her body cement to the ground. Her body frozen solid yet her eyes were wider than ever.

She could only watch.

It all happened so fast: the van coming to a halt, Bella cradled on the wet pavement, Tyler sticking his head out of the window. Nell felt her eyes glass over with premature tears before she even looped around the truck to get to Bella.

"Someone, call an ambulance for Tyler!" A peer yelled as Angela pushed people away from the scene.

"Give them some space!" She yelled. It was the loudest she had ever heard Angela speak. "Back up!"

Nell's movements were slow, too slow. Before she knew it, she was running around the truck to get to Bella. Her sister. "Bella!" She screamed between choppy breaths. "Oh my god," Nell whimpered, knocking herself down to her knees. She felt the way the puddles sunk into her tights and as they wet her knees. "Please be okay," Nell whispered under her breath before Bella turned to look at her.

Deep brown eyes met green.

"I'm okay," Bella muttered, feeling her own heartbeat begin to slow. "Nell, I'm okay."
