As I get close to my house I look through my shorts for the keys.

"Great" I sigh "Looks like I gotta go to grandma's for the keys." I tell Ian.

"At least I put a blanket and jacket on you."

I start to walk towards the stairs.

"Eric!" I hear a girl yell after me. I turn to see Casey.

"Hi. Again."

"Hi. Hey I kind of grabbed the wrong keys in accident I think these are yours."

I walk over to her and she hands me the keys.

"Yeah these are mine." I say smiling. "Looks like we're not going to have to sleep outside." I tell Ian.

"You know you could have just slept at my house." She said.

I looked at her funny.

"I mean it's the least I can do after you helped me the other day, think of it as me helping you know when you're in need. I don't think I'm making sense. I think I'm just going to go now." She turns to go.

I laugh. "Wait what about your keys?"

"That's right."

"Can you hold him for me please?"

"Yeah" I hand Ian to her. I open up the door and let them in first.

"Thanks." I say holding out my hands. She passes Ian over to me.

"I'm going to go get my keys."

"Go ahead."

As she goes to get her keys I go to the living room and set Ian down on the floor.

"Got them" She says holding up her keys.

"Where were they?"

"On the counter." She says motioning back into the kitchen. I nod. "Ok well I'm going to be going."

"Here I'll walk." I say standing up.

"No it's fine it's only around the corner."

"Still you never know if there are any creepers out today and they chose this building to prey on." I smile.

"Oh you're right" She said with mock horror and holding her hands to her chest. "Please sir, do walk me to my apartment."

"Your wish is my command my good lady." I say bowing to her.

"Why thank you." She puts her hands to her chest again.

We both start laughing.

"I'll see you around then." She says starting to walk towards the door.

"Hey I wasn't kidding about walking you home." I say picking up Ian and walking towards her.

"Eric it's late. Plus it's probably too cold for Ian to be out."

"Casey don't worry about it Ian has a blanket I'll cover him."

"But Eric"

"No buts. I'm going to walk you home."
