Hobbies

I've always wanted to get into some hobbies but once I tried any of them I lost motivation, so I'm going to list the ones I want to get into and some that I have done.

Art: I've always wanted to get into art whether that be painting, drawing, or some type of photography. I've tried painting and even added it into multiple failed routines but I never ended up continuously doing it. Drawing was more of a doodling thing I would just draw random small things on worksheets or even papers, to me it made them look good and it added a pop of creativity but as a hobby, it was never really pursued. (This one is more of a rant than anything) And lastly photography, people say the reason they do photography is to capture a moment at first I was like yeah I guess but then every person or actor from whatever movie or show started saying the same thing. It would go like, "What made you get into art or photography?" "The reason I got into it is that... The way I'm able to capture a moment, a lot of people say to live in the moment but I want to stay in it and capture it." Something like that, but that to me now is bullshit. I get what you're saying but there should be more to it, and you've most likely heard it before and you decided to say it just in different words because that's all you could think of at that moment. But being able to capture a moment is being able to remember it, whenever I look at a photo I immediately think of everything else that happened during that time not just during that moment.

Next is... BAKING!!
I've always taken an interest in baking because of the smell and being able to taste it throughout making it and afterward. I also really like when I, you, or someone would make something cool like a multicolored cake (I've never actually made a cake like that but along the lines of making something cool) and just seeing how it looks especially when you made it so well is a nice and delightful feeling. It's a feeling of achievement, like dang I made that and even better is that it turned out awesome!

Learning new languages.
I haven't always wanted to learn multiple or at least one different language but learning something useful like that would be nice. I've tried learning French, Korean, Japanese, German, Russian, and Spanish. I still really wanna learn French because I've dreamed of going to Paris, France for as long as I could remember I just got unmotivated and forgot to do it a lot. I wanted to learn Korean and Japanese because I just really liked anime and fantasized about being good at it and at the time so it was more of a phase (I still really like anime just trying to learn a new language because of it didn't seem worth it ig). Learning German was like a 2-day thing not even because at the time it seemed cool to know I don't even remember why. I wanted to learn Russian because the accent was just phenomenal and I saw a lot of TikTokers who were good at Russian accents and some who just spoke Russian a little bit or were just fluent and stuff because they were Russian. But ofc it didn't last long I tried multiple times to learn it, but I just got unmotivated over time and again forgot. And lastly, Spanish, I went to an emersion school to learn Spanish for 3-4 years before I moved to a different state but those were in my early years, like when I was in kindergarten and up lol. I still am very interested in learning it because it's the second most spoken language still I think or at least in America so being able to speak to a lot of different people would come in VERY handy in multiple situations. But the same things with learning French and Russian I got unmotivated and forgot to do my Duolingo lessons for days at a time.

Knitting and crocheting.
I wanted to knit because when I say old people do it it seemed easy to do and calming but I never even tried I just always thought about it. Crocheting became popular in the last year or two so when I saw people making cool stuff like food, clothes, blankets, etc it seemed worth learning but again I never even attempted to do so.

Learning to cook.
I'm still learning and am VERY good at it but tbh cooking is a skill you should learn naturally and just have to do to make it in life but yk those classes "rich" people take like cheese tasting. Well, I've always wanted to be one of those people, not being rich although who doesn't wanna be? But take those weird classes. I always found them interesting and just doing them I thought it would be kinda luxurious and many other things not just feeling rich and stuff but it seemed nice to do them lol.

Learning an instrument.
Learning an instrument became really intriguing to me during 4th grade because that's when my school got a band class and I joined. I wanted to play the flute because it seemed easy and nice to do but I had to blow into the flute for some reason when I signed up I thought it would be embarrassing to do so because a lot of other kids and also parents were signing up for the band class. So when I didn't because to me it would be embarrassing to just play a rather loud sound in the room my mom made me just learn the violin, which I didn't want to but I had no choice because I didn't speak up. I ended up learning the violin well tried, I didn't understand any of the musical notes and I just tried copying the rest of the students (they also had no idea how to play their instruments). My band teacher would always complain when students weren't listening or doing something he didn't want them to do and then he would try and make us feel bad because when he was at his other school he supposedly took his class to Disneyland because of how good they were but I'm pretty sure that was a lie but the class believed it. I also HATED carrying my instrument because of how heavy it was, we were allowed to leave it in my teacher's class because she let us do so but my mom didn't want me leaving it there for whatever reason so I just carried it every time I walked home and to school.

Astronomy.
Astronomy seems cool to learn especially from videos I've seen on TikTok and seeing the ones about supernovas was like accessing a new form of reality for my eyes.

Tarot reading.
I wanna try and learn tarot reading but I've never tried and I don't even own a pair of tarot cards but astrology and the future and just overall learning more spiritually and stuff seems SUPER cool.

Gardening.
Gardening is something I wanna do because the look of plants around my room and home is just so aesthetically pleasing it's insane.

Fishing and hiking.
I've only gone fishing once a long time ago at, I don't even know what age but I had a pink fishing rod and I don't even remember catching any fish but looking at pretty fish and their bones on my walk like some researcher would be cool. Hiking is more of a challenge because I don't go outside a lot but walking around and seeing nature and taking pictures would be amazing and a nice adventure.

Golfing.
Golfing is usually associated with what "old" people do but golfing a couple times a month in a more closed space with tiny obstacles is so cute and fun, and a nice way to get out of the house.

And last but hopefully not least, playing a sport.
I could've tried out for volleyball and basketball a time or two last year but I didn't have the courage or was even good at either of the two. The only reason I slightly considered playing volleyball was because I watched Haikyuu and was just amazed by how cool it looked but like, no.
