There I was, standing up against a wall outside of a gas station food mart, about to rob the place. It's not like I wanted to, I was being forced to by my psycho boyfriend, Jayce. "Jay, I don't know about this, I think something bad is about to happen," I state, voicing my concerns. "Something bad is gonna happen to you if we don't go in there and get the money. If the mission fails, you know what will happen," he says through gritted teeth, while I shake my head in disgust. "Fine. I'll go, and you stay here," I suggest. "I'm the one with a loaded gun. You follow MY orders. I go in and demand for everything in the register while you stand guard, understand?" He glares at me for even alleging such things. "Do you?!" He growls at me, obviously annoyed with me. "Yes, I understand," I reply looking up at him with my purple colored eyes. He's vexing as all hell, but he's all I've got. All he does is control me though, and I can't stand it. "Well? You ready?" He doesn't even wait for my response, he just walks through the front door, me trailing behind him. "Everything from the register, go, go!" He hollers, scaring the living day lights out of me, even though we've been planning this for five days. From the corner of my eye I see a man in red crouched being an isle, and following him is a boy in blue. "Why use guns when we can settle this like real men?" The strange man boomed, suddenly standing up, snatching Jayce's gun. Jayce gave me a look that told me I should shoot, but I didn't want to listen. If I didn't listen, however, I could pay the price. So I aimed for the man's chest so the bullet didn't hurt that badly. To my luck and misfortune however, the man seemed to have a bulletproof vest on. "Bullet immunity! You have bullet immunity!" The boy exclaimed, taking his phone out to start recording. The man spoke once more and said, "I'm bulletproof!" They both looked surprised and excited, and Jayce rolled his eyes. I stared in awe and the boy said to shoot the man again. The man gave Jayce his gun back and Jayce shot at him until his rounds were empty. I dropped my gun, feeling scared of what would happen next. Jayce picks it up, glaring at me. "We still don't know if the suit is bulletproof or you are," the boy states. "Shoot him in the face!" He continues, bouncing on his heals a bit. "Shoot me... in the face?" The man's face fell as Jayce did what the boy asked, emptying all of my rounds. I glance at Jayce for a quick second and then I realize that this is the moment where I can finally take control of my life. I dash to an aisle for a cord or something to bind my (soon-to-be) ex boyfriend. All I could find was a roll of Christmas lights, but it was still usable. "Hey! Give that back!" I exclaimed as the man took the lights out of my hands. My voice changer was high pitched, squeaky, and highly vexing. "No. Whatever you were about to do was probably dangerous," he responded with a stern look on his face. "Not to you or your friend," I muttered. Jayce took out his Swiss army knife and started coming towards me, realizing my plan. "You. Are. A. Traitor," he seethed, staring at me like I had hurt him and not the other way around. I almost burst out laughing right then and there, but there was a tiny hint of amusement on my face. "You think this is funny?! I'll show you!" He inches closer to me, making me feel a little scared. I already knew I was gonna be in deep shit when I tied him up, but he wouldn't have been able to hurt me. He slashed my left eye with the knife, and I realized that it was originally my knife. It was the only thing I had from my parents. My dad's initials and I think my mom's initials were carved into it. There was now blood on the tip of it from my new cut. He had slashed me in the eye through my mask, and I had nothing to defend myself. I stumble back, scared. "Why..." I couldn't even finish my sentence. He had hurt me for the last time. I'm done with him controlling me. I rush to grab something to counter his attack, but the man has already used the Christmas lights to do what I had planned to do in the first place: tie Jayce up. I sign in relief as Jace is thrown out the window and runs away. Both the man and the boy turn to me and ask at the same time if I was waiting for them to call the cops and I replied, "Thank you," and run off to someplace nobody (not even Jace) could find me.
