From the shadows a creature honed in on a new scent in the house. Silver eyes peered through the darkness, pupils dilating as it slowly breathed in the sweet scent of her sweat and perfume. Shuddering with anticipation, more saliva and blood oozed down its tongue as it savored her presence. He felt a gentle hand tough his arm, a velvety voice whispering beside him.

She isn't quite ready for our us just yet, Beastie. Patience...

The creature reluctantly nodded and silently slid back into the shadows, settling into its hiding spot and waiting for the right command. It flashed an eerie smile as its ears picked up the swish-thud of the beauty's blood rushing through her veins, the smell of anxiety and fear on her skin. It burbled happily as it crouched in anticipation. Soon...

Jynx felt a chill trail down her spine, looking around the first upstairs bedroom and feeling disorientation make her head swim. I don't remember walking in here... I was on the stairs—

Jynx...

She gasped and looked around the room, breathing hard as she tried to make out anything out of place. Quinten kept his gaze and the camera honed in on her, "You ok? What happened?"

"I heard my name. Someone whispered my name."

"Did they say anything else?"

Jynx shook her head, "No... just a soft whisper saying my name." Quinten shifted the camera on his shoulder, "And how are you feeling? Any intuitive messages or visions?"

"No, nothing yet. Just that voice saying my name."

"Did you record it?"

Jynx nodded, "Yeah, I'm gonna go ahead and start asking questions and see if we can get some answers." Quinten nodded, "Sounds good, I'm getting everything on my end." Jynx nodded and turned back to the room, the hairs on her arms standing on end. She jumped and leaned her back against the wall, her heart pounding hard in her chest. Quinten got close to her, putting out his hand for her to hold for grounding. "What's going on, baby girl?"

Jynx shuddered and swallowed, "I dunno, it felt like something was breathing on my arm or something." Quinten paused, "Seriously?" She nodded, "Yeah... It's fine though, probably just a draft coming from somewhere. Didn't that creepy-ass realtor say something about 'coastal breezes' or some shit today?"

"She did, yeah, but there aren't any windows open and I made sure to shut off the AC so there wouldn't be any 'cold spots' or breezes while we're recording."

Jynx breathed a nervous sigh, slowly releasing the air through pursed lips as she nodded. "Ok..." She looked at the door to bedroom and felt like it was a million miles away, wanting to leave but something in her kept her anchored to the floor. What the hell is wrong with me... what's so special about this room that I can't leave... She looked slowly around the room, her mind suddenly clear. "Why are you keeping me in this room?"

The static echoed through the room but no voices came through. Jynx frowned, "I can feel that you're keeping me anchored to the floor and I wanna know why." Quinten's brow wrinkled in concern, "Wait, what? They're keeping you in here?" Jynx pointed to her headset and shook her head, indicating that she couldn't hear him. She focused intently, trying to hear something through the static.

Nothing.

Frustration building, Jynx took a deep breath, "If you aren't going to answer me then let quit fucking with me and let me leave this room." The room started spinning and her knees nearly buckled as she felt a huge weight lift off her. Quinten took a step towards her, "Jynx! You ok?" She nodded slowly, leaning against the wall to steady herself and pulling one of the headphones off her ear. "I... I think so. Whatever it was I was feeling holding me in here left."
