Chapter 26: The Criminal Duo Troubles

"Ms. (L/n), were almost at the island." One of the ladies woke me up.

I quickly woke up and looked ahead of the ship and spotted an island. Since it was still far away, I couldn't really see all of it but I did manage to see a familiar marine ship. One of the ladies on the ship quickly passed me one of their spare cloaks to help hide my appearance since the news of me disappearing from the castle hasnt hit the marines yet but it's better to play it safe then get recognized.

"Stay back while we speak with them."

I nodded as I walked into a certain area of the ship where some of the women quickly stood around me but still left enough space for me to see what was going on. As the ship pulls up next to the marine's ship. The vice admiral and one of the women on the ship start talking about the supposed dead sea king that had a giant "X" on top of its head and what caused such actions to be used. The vice admiral quickly demands to see Boa who was sitting in her room and the same woman tries to avoid the subject but soon enough it seems that Boa had budge and the doors leading to where she mustve been start to open.

"Be on guard, men, you wont know what she'll do." Their captain says.

All the marine soldiers behind the vice admiral held their guns off the floor and closer to their chests as they waited to see what the Empress looked like while also sharing rumors that they've heard from others. Boa finally walks out and walks towards one of the sea snakes, after kicking an orange kitten. She points at the ship and the snack automatically moves in the direction she pointed.

"Did she tame those snakes herself or what? They listened to her without hesitating." I asked out loud.

"Nobody knows who those snakes listen to except for her and her younger sisters." The lady on my right answers.

"We've recently received word about the shadow princess disappearing from home. Have you seen her anywhere?" The vice admiral asks, looking at everyone on the ship before noticing me. "Why is that one wearing a hood? SHOW YOURSELF IN THE NAME OF THE MARINES!"

I didn't move from my spot and neither did the women around me move either but instead we made it seem like he was talking to someone else. Everyone else followed along and looked around trying to find who the vice admiral was speaking to.

"Young lady with the hood, you've been spotted. Step forward." Boa speaks.

Now the gig was up and since I was the only female on this ship who had a hood on, I couldn't act stupid anymore. The woman in front of me steps to the side, allowing me to walk towards the giant sea snake. Really thought that the act could continue until Boa had the ship depart from the marines ship but it seems that isn't the case. Even though Boa's ship is slightly taller than the other ship, I had to stand on the rails just to be better seen until waist level.

"Remove your hood." He orders again.

There was a bit of silence before I pulled off my hood and opened my mouth

"How do you call yourselves marines and you treat other people this way. You sound more-or-less like the true evil pirates."

"How dare you speak ill about the marines! We protect women like you from being killed by pirates." The vice admiral responds.

Now I took that as either a threat or stereotypical image of a woman, which I hate when people do that. It seems that Boa was about to react to the response but I beat her to it by throwing a vine at the vice admiral's neck and yanking it. The soldiers behind him all became scared and took a step back. Wings sprout out of my back and the first flap from the wings pushes me off the rails and onto the marine ship.
