'CALLING ALL UNITS, backup needed at town central, unidentified entity in the building.' I heard an officer say over the walkie. I had found the polices channel and hacked into their conversations. Now I can be alerted at any sign of a villain. I comb my silky midnight-brown hair back with gel, just enough to hold it in place, I stumble into my desk as I wriggle my suit over my body. 'Everything okay in there?' my aunt calls. 'Yep, just peachy.' I fire back.
I slide my window up and squeeze through the small gap I made for myself, clambering my worn converse onto the rusted metal balcony. I place my mask over my eyes and leap. Threading through the back streets and alleyways over to the city Centre. I roll into a bush and peek through to see the seriousness of the crime. Around fifty police cars are arranged around the entrance to the art museum, guarding it almost. I spin under the tape away from the polices line of sight as I enter the museum. Shooting webs at the door to block anyone coming in.
I peer around the dimly lit structure, it seeming empty. 'Well wasn't this anti-climatic.' I say to my self. As if called a cardboard vulture swoops down towards me. I roly-poly away 'Well hello there big fella.' i say as i wave towards him. Only angering this carboard box even more. I jump right into action shooting webs out my arms. Swinging further and further up towards this bird.
I pounce from a ledge and jump onto the creatures back. I was not expecting a rollercoaster ride today. The vulture-man twists and turns looping around and around, and there was me clawing into his back for dear life. Yet it seemed my luck ran out as my hand slips and i tumble down towards the floor below. I try to stick onto something, but my web flops, loosing to gravity. I brace myself for impact until I feel a sharp yank onto my back.
I twist my head to glimpse at my savior. No fucking way. There's a 6'9 man dressed in a deep ocean blue skin suit, very much outlining his 6-pack and his biceps. A blood red trail falls down his neck to his shoulders and a red spider is centered in the middle of his chest. And a apple red color outlines his eyes. 'You seem like you need help? Yes?' his deep voice questions, raising a eyebrow at me from under his mask.
I nod in his direction as I pull myself up to the ledge he is placed on, but he already has swooped off to pounce into action. I turn my head to another girl one sat on a red bike, her outfit is stuck to her body except her loose knee-high boots along with a leather jacket with a combination with a baby bump. Her hair is black and frizzy but styled well with a combination of her orange goggles, she looks ethereal. 'Not a talker eh?' I question her as I point to the crazed man fighting the so called cardboard man. 'You can say that' she says back, 'What's your name?' I question 'Jessica, Jessica Drew, and you?' 'Kacee White.' I smile back, her face turns into a shocked look, yet I brush it off. Our conversation is rudely interrupted by the insanely attractive man 'YOU TWO, GET UP HERE, HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED' he shots as he groans out in pain as the vulture hits him with one of his homemade bombs.
'Yeah, yeah, yeah' I mumble, I turn to Jessica 'One final question, what's his name?' I shout over the sounds of the bird crashing into a artwork of a balloon dog, it's fine I didn't see the point in that anyways. 'I thought you knew, It's Miguel O' Hara?' she asks with a muddled look on her face. Well I never knew that, why would she think that? Have I met her before? I think before swinging to Miguel's side. Shooting webs over the creature face as Jessica rams her bike into his face. The vulture cries out in pain, flying towards the ground, yet it pulls up in just enough time to save itself. Miguel lets out an overexaggerated sigh, clearly showing his annoyance. The bird gathers himself together and locks his eyes into mine as he swerves towards me. But the bird was too slow as Miguel swings onto the birds side, grabbing its face by his hands and showing his fangs..? This man could not get anymore weirder.
The vulture cowers back in fear and Jessica sends a kick right to his cheekbone. The vulture twirls his head around, becoming more and more faint, slowly loosing consciousness. With one final intake of breath the creature crashes into the ground. Miguel sharply wraps a neon red rope around the creatures body, securing it in place. 'Goodbye, spider-woman? Thank you for your help.' Miguel says as he turns towards me. I was about to reply yet he had already ran off through a glowing orange portal. 'You wanna come with?' Jessica questions. I quickly agreed and followed her along. One night, what could be the worst that could happen?
I exited the portal into a massive world. Very high tech, yet that wasn't the most shocking thing about this place, there were thousands, no millions of spiderpeople. Just like me. A spider horse, spidercat, even the Lego spiderman was here. I gawked in awe at everyone surrounding me, how could one make such a successful world. I was knocked out of my trance by an arm slinging over my shoulder, one that smelled of cigarettes and grass. 'Pretty amazing eh?' a tall man asks me his british accent showing through, his hair is in an afro style cut. His dark skin mixing perfectly with his inconsistent clothing. A worn out guitar is slung down his back, over the top of a dark denim jacket.
'You new 'round 'ere?' he questions, tilting his head to the side. 'Yeah, pretty great isn't it, what's your name?' I glance over my shoulder making eye contact with him. 'Hobie Brown, 'nd you?' he shoots back. 'Kacee White.' I reply. 'Ah man, Miguel ain't gonna be happy 'bout this.' I raise a confused eyebrow, why was everyone so confused about my name? I'm one-hundred percent sure I have never met these people before. 'Anyways we're almost at main base, lets change the subject. I aint one for formal things.'
Hobie is quickly cut off by the sound of doors opening leading us to a corridor of many specimens from 'other universes' , apparently these are anomalies that need to be returned back to their world as Gwen explains. We finally enter the main room. I look up towards the ceiling where a platform stands and of course Miguel stands on it. I take a seat behind Hobie pulling my knees up to my chest as i inspect my nails. Before Miguel begins talking about god knows what.
-TIME SKIP-
Miguel finally finishes talking about the multiverse and looks my way as I pull my mask off, my hair framing my face. The room goes immensely quiet and Miguel portrays a look of fear and worry. I peer around the room searching for answers, yet everyone seems as worried as Miguel. I look over to Hobie and he seems unbothered, as if he knew what was going on. 'Anyone care to explain why they are looking at me like my face has been burned in?' I say turning my head at people. 'She isn't allowed here, Jessica you know better.' Miguel shouts, slowly raising his voice. My head is spinning. What have I done?
'I-I didn't know it was her.' Jesscia stutter as she flashes her eyes to me and back to Miguel. He pinches the bridge of his nose letting out a loud sigh and finally turning to me. 'You have to go. right now. Go home.' he sternly says pointing towards the exit and then leaving the room, in such a hurry. 'What is going on? Why do I have to leave?' I question as a search around the room for answers. Jessica's eyes round to a sympathetic look, she finally says 'In every universe he lost you, you were his canon event.'
