'I'll see you later.' was all I said to my mom as I rushed to leave the confining walls of my so-called home. She didn't bother to ask me where I was going or who I'll be with, and this was my life. Nobody cared about me anymore. I made my way to my reliable Honda Civic and plopped myself onto the leather seat. I made sure to play Back to Black by Amy Winehouse and I let her words engulf me.
I honestly didn't know where I was going. I drove around for hours, drowning in thought until the sun began to set. Driving around the city has become my escape. It is the only thing that keeps me from blowing up at Adrik, my mom's boyfriend. Mama and Adrik married when I was 9 years old. She had just broken up with my father, Hideyoshi Katsuki. She said it was because my father had no time for her, and I believed her. I know now that my dad was not in the wrong, mama had always loved chasing the high and I'm quite shocked she hasn't divorced that bastard.

After sitting at the beach till the sun had set, I stood up and decided to head to that dreadful place I call home. Before entering my car, I noticed a figure throwing something on the sand. It's a guy wearing black sweatpants and a matching hoodie. He throws something again this time near his feet and it shatters, making the loudest noise. He kneels and picks up the broken pieces of the object. I suddenly run toward him dropping my cardigan carelessly on the road. The only thought I had in my mind was 'don't let him take his life' as I leaped toward him and grabbed the piece of glass that he used to cut his hand. 'Please don't kill yourself.' I begged and tears rolled down his cheeks. Without a word, he grabbed another piece of glass and aimed it at his hand. Not knowing what to do I pulled out a dagger from my thigh holster and held it to my wrist.
'If you cut, I cut' I muttered firmly. At that moment nothing mattered more than his life, but I soon realized I don't want to die yet and a that thought made tears escape my eyes. I held the knife tight on my wrist. 'It's my birthday tomorrow and I don't wanna die yet.' I said to the stranger that I was willing to kill myself for. He looked at me and suddenly dropped the glass. I took that chance to embrace him and instead of me comforting him, he comforted me.
