two

felix was in shambles the next moment when he found himself in the staff room, standing in front of his homeroom teacher.

"i really didn't expect this from you." mr. park said with a sigh.

the blonde haired boy didn't dare to look up from the floor. he felt embarrassed and was really terrified for the punishment he would receive. his thoughts wandered around as he tried not to think about what he would have to face once he gets back home.

"i will have to inform your parents."

shit, no. 

felix refrained himself from saying those words out loud. that wasn't it, he even received a detention for being on the rooftop when it's strictly prohibited for the students to go up there.

 he tightly held the straps of his bag and made his way back home, his heart beating loudly in his chest.

he thought of the ways he could explain himself to his father but he found none.

'should i just say i followed my friend?' he wondered and immediately shook his head.

"that would be worse." he breathed out in desperation.

"felix!!!" he heard someone calling out his name which made him stop and spin around on his heels. a soft smile made it's way on his lips as he witnessed lee minho running all the way over from around the corner to him.

"are. ." deep breath "you. ." another deep breath "okay?" minho managed to push the words out of his mouth as he was running out of breath.

"first, catch your breath." felix frowned as he placed his hand on the back of the elder.

 minho resisted the urge to smile at the little gesture which made something inside him flip. 'are those butterflies?' he wondered in amusement 'the same who get crazy whenever he's around the certain blonde haired boy'

"hyung-"

"i told you not to call me hyung." minho frowned as felix retreated his hand, attaching it again to the straps of his bag.

"minho." felix corrected himself with a sigh. he had no idea why the elder wouldn't let him call him hyung.

'maybe he just doesn't wants to feel old?' he mentally thought.

"felix, i'm really sorry about today. i didn't know he would find me there-"

"it's not your fault." the younger cut off minho in between,"you warned me not to follow you as you were breaking a rule. it was me who insisted to give you company."

"so let me accompany you right now?" minho asked.

felix didn't understand what the elder was trying to say,"what?"

"i can walk you home." minho explained with a hopeful smile on his lips.

the blonde shook his head and smiled,"it's fine. don't bother yourself."

"please?"

felix sighed. "okay." he breathed out.

minho grinned and the two of them made their way towards felix's house. the ride home was filled with pure silence. usually the silence didn't bother the either of them but that day something felt off. the two of them had no idea how to engage any conversation without thinking about what happened in the morning.

"we're here." felix announced as he came to a halt in front of the apartment where he lived. his house was on the thirteenth floor.

"oh yes." minho nodded with a small sigh.

"see you tomorrow?" he added with a small smile spreading on his lips.

"if i survive today." felix whispered under his breath which made the older raise his eyebrows in confusion. felix shook the thought away and put up a smile,"yeah sure."

the blonde took a step back and waved at minho before entering the apartment. he immediately felt nervous and felt the urge to run away but he knew he would have to return home. he entered the lift and with a heavy heart pressed the button for the thirteenth floor. the door opened and he took a step forward. his knees felt wobbly and his feet was on the verge to give up on taking a step forward. still, he held himself up and rang the doorbell.

the door opened and he was met by his step mother who looked furious as always. her eyes were unwelcoming and her face held the expression that he was unwanted. without a word, felix stepped inside and hurried towards the stairs only to be stopped by his stepmother.

"i got a call from your school." the woman started making felix take a deep breath,"what on earth were you doing on the roof?"

"why does it matter to you?" felix had no idea where the hell did he get the courage to talk back to his step mother.

"is that how you talk to your mother?" he heard his father voice as he appeared out of nowhere and stood besides the woman. felix took a deep breath as he already on the verge of tears.

"she is not my mother." felix said with a shaky breath.

"don't start that again." his father warned as he took few steps towards him,"what were you doing on the roof? smoking with some senior?"

"i wasn't smoking." felix answered confidently as his fingers balled up in a fist.

"stop lying. i have enough of your shit. i pay for your school expenses for you to study not to smoke." the man shouted making a tear roll down felix's cheeks.

"ANSWER ME!!"

that was it. felix knew this wasn't going to age well so he bowed as an apology.

"i'm sorry. i won't repeat it again." he cried.

"how pathetic." his father mumbled.

felix didn't wait for him to say anything further as he took a step back and hurried upstairs to his room.

"FELIX !" his father shouted from downstairs making felix shudder with the thought of his father's anger he has witnessed.

he sat down on his bed, placed his bag away and immediately covered himself in sheets, trying to make himself feel safe. a sob escaped his lips and pretty soon he was crying hysterically.
