ENCHANTED, minlix

three

minho was sat at the bus stop from where he took the bus to school on days he didn't feel like walking. he pulled out his phone and debated on whether he should call felix and check on him.

 it has been two days since the incident and the blonde hasn't showed up since then which was worrying minho. he chewed on his lips as he felt desperate to know if felix was okay.

 the younger once told minho how his father and step mother hated him for no reason. after few debated with his conscience, minho decided on calling felix and waited for the other to pick up. the call went straight to voicemail which annoyed minho. 

he tried few more times before he came to a conclusion ; he was going to visit felix himself and see if he was doing okay. he pushed his phone in the pocket of his cargo pants and made his way towards the apartment felix lived at.

he took the elevator to the thirteenth floor and arrived in front of felix's flat. without any thought, he rung the doorbell and immediately regretted it when felix's father opened the door. now, he has never met felix's family but he had seen felix's family photo so he knew it was his father who opened the door.

"is felix home?" minho asked.

the man laughed which sounded sarcastic to minho. "look at this, did your parent never taught you to greet elders?"

minho frowned but nevertheless he bowed and apologized for his disrespectful behavior.

"wait a minute, are you the senior he was smoking with?" felix's father frowned as he recognized the smell of cigarette lingering around the boy.

minho cursed under his breath for smoking early in the morning as he got a feeling that he won't be getting to see felix.

"get out of my house and never show your face again." his father snarled as he slammed the door shut which made minho step back. 

'shit' he cursed and took out his phone to try calling felix again but the blonde didn't pick up.

 minho didn't know where to look for the younger so he decided to search for him in school. the school was at a walking distance from felix's house and it mostly took ten to fifteen minutes to get there.

once minho reached school, he went straight to the baseball ground where the two of them usually hung out. he was disappointed when he found the bleachers empty.

with a sigh, he decided to look for felix at the library. he earned a lot of weird looks on his way to the library though.

a sigh of relief left his lips when he found the younger seated at the table near the window, engrossed in a book he was reading.

"hey." minho said as he took a seat opposite to him.

felix lifted his head up and was kinda startled to find the older in front of him. he immediately lowered his eyes, randomly reading any line from the book.

"felix." minho said to earn the younger's attention but felix just wouldn't look up.

"are you okay?" minho continued.

"why were you at my house?" felix chose to ask as tears welled up in his eyes.

"what - how did you - i. ." minho didn't know how to respond and the tears in the younger's eyes just made him anxious.

"appa messaged me and he's furious again." felix managed to say.

 the tears at the brim of his eyes were now threatening to fall. before minho could say anything, felix got on his feet, grabbed the book, slung his bag over his shoulder and left. the older was utterly confused with the way felix was behaving so he decided to ask and followed the blonde out.

"felix!" he called out his name and jogged to catch up with him,"hey, what's wrong? look i'm sorry for going to your house but i was just worried. you weren't picking my calls either so i had no other choice left-"

"why do you care?" felix cut him off in between with a tear already cascading down his cheek. minho was at loss of words. he didn't know what to say. 

felix was right ; why did he care so much for the younger?

"i-i'm sorry." felix whispered as he noticed the dumbfounded expression on the older's face. he had no intention to hurt minho but the words just spilled out of his mouth.

"lix." minho used the nickname for the first time that day. his face was void of any expression but felix could point out that he was in a deep thought.

"you've been so nice to me and i really appreciate it. you've never once complained about whatever shit i get myself into. you've only warned me and cared about me and i truly appreciate it." minho took a pause to analyze felix's expression. 

the younger looked emotional as if he was overwhelmed with certain emotions.

"and i care about you because. . "minho inhaled sharply before continuing," because you're my friend."

just then the bell rang and the two broke off the eye contact they had been holding for too long.

"see you after class?" minho asked hopefully. 

felix hesitated but nodded nevertheless. minho watched as the blonde left his sight and with a heavy heart, the older made his way towards his class.
