"Please rise. The Court of Seoul, Criminal Division, is now in session, the Honorable Judge Miss. Min Seomi is presenting." The bailiff said, and all the members of the jury and witnesses stood up from their seats.
The judge arrived the courtroom, and took her seat.
"Everyone but the jury may be seated. Mr. Kim Beom seok, please swear in the jury." She said.
"Please raise your right hand. Do you solemnly swear or affirm that you will truly listen to this case and render a true verdict and a fair sentence as to this defendant?"
"I do." Said the members of the jury.
"You may be seated." Said the bailiff, and all the members of jury took their seats.
"Members of the jury, your duty today will be to determine whether the defendant is guilty or not guilty based only on facts and evidence provided in this case. The prosecution has the burden of proving the guilt of the defendant beyond a reasonable doubt. This burden remains on the prosecution through the trial. The prosecution must prove that a crime was committed and that the defendant is the person who committed the crime. However, if you are not satisfied of the defendant's guilt to that extent, then reasonable doubt exists and the defendant must be found not guilty. Mr. Kim Beom seok, what is today's case?" The judge said, and the bailiff straighten his back to explain the case to the court.
"Your Honor, today's case is charged against Mr. Jung hoseok, the defendant, by Miss. Stacy Wu, the victim. The victim has claimed that Mr. Jung hoseok, who's a doctor in Asan hospital has sexually assaulted and r*ped her during working hours. The chief Superintendent Jeon Hyun-ki is the one who's in charge of Miss. Stacy Wu's r*pe case, but defendant Jung hoseok is denying all the charges and pleading not guilty." Said the bailiff. The prosecution and defendant just listened to him in silence, and waited for the next words of the judge.
"Is the prosecution ready?" Asked the judge.
The prosecution, who's fighting from stacy's side, Park seojoon stood up from his seat.
"Yes your honour." He said. The judge nodded, and he took his respective seat again.
"Is the defense ready?" She asked, now looking at Huening Kai, making him stand up on his place.
"Yes your honour." He said, and again sat on his place.
"Prosecution may start to introduce their case in front of the jury and court." Said the judge.
Park seojoon nodded, and stood up from his place.
He walked towards the podium, and placed his file on it.
