I sigh as I read the letter in my hands for the 9th time and I still haven't figure how they managed to get a hold of my mailing address. As far as I remember I don't have any friends as well as acquaintances and the more I think about what's written on this letter the more questions arises.

"Oh! Isn't that a great thing? You've finally found a client?" Fred said. He's a spirit that's been attached to me ever since the last case I was involved, I have tried to persuade him to move on 3 years ago, but he's too persistent. I don't know what's keeping him here, but when I asked him, he just said: "Nah, it's nothing you should be worrying about. How 'bout you buy me some nude magazine so I won't get bored when you're out helping poor souls?" Well, I think it's just something he can't let go or accept or he just enjoys being here, so I didn't push him.

"I didn't found one, they found me. You know that I already forbid myself on meddling with other people's troubles with the paranormal right? Ever since that tragic incident happened" I said glaring at the letter that I didn't noticed is still in my hands. It has been that long ever since the tragic event, but the memory of what happened that night still felt like yesterday and haunting me in my dream every single night. I shook my head.

"That incident did got your pants in a twist, huh? You should move on to that man! Go and help those dudes and earn money! I haven't forgiven you for my magazines that you set on fire" He huffed.

"Moving on? Hmp. Sound like fun, why don't you do it? You're the spirit here, you should be the one moving on. And those trashes that you called magazines are definitely meant to be burned! I'm a grown woman for goodness sake! I have no need for those disgusting things with pictures of women that- you know what? Blast it! I don't want to get involve with those supernatural beings again. I. Won't. Go. And that's final" I yelled as I grip the letter that's still in my hand. I slumped myself in my swivel chair and groaned in annoyance, I finally let go of the poor letter in my desk and straighten it.

"Meh. You still owe me a magazine" With that, he vanished. Where he go? I know nothing, not that I didn't care, I just don't want to know and I didn't asked. A sudden knock on the door snapped me back to reality.

"Liz? Are you talking with someone on telephone? I heard you yelling from outside, is something wrong? " Mrs. Sands said as she open the door wider. She's my next door neighbor and she's been coming over to cook me something every lunch hours just because she saw me one time eating soup and a bread for a lunch after I helped her with something, she's such a blessing though.

"Y-Yeah, I was. And don't worry everything's fine. So, what are we having for lunch? I'm starving." I said walking out the room and go straight to the kitchen and see what she cooked.

"So how's theater? Did they give you a nice role?" she beamed as she sat in across from me. I almost chocked, well it's all Fred's fault why Mrs. Sands thought I was doing theater. He thought it would be fun to hide my house key, so when he shows himself in front of me, I ranted like a mad lad, can you blame me? I searched my suitcase and anywhere I could possibly left it but still couldn't find it. And that's when Mrs. Sands shows up looking at me like I'm a psycho who escaped in a loony bin. What I really do? Well let's talk about that next time.

"It's doing great, and about the role, I don't know if it's a nice role, but role is a role right?" I said giving a forced smile. She sighs.

"If you say so, I should get going I forgot to send Julie to retrieve some books I ordered. And oh before I forgot, I saw the postman stopped by and I think there's a letter that came in for you, you should check it out" she said looking at her watch.

"Mrs. Sands you know you don't have to do all of this favor for me all the time, I'm very thankful but I don't want to inconvenience you." I smiled at her.

"Hush young lady, I do this because I want to and after all you've done for me and my family. If it weren't for you we would have lost everything we had so no need to humble yourself too much. I'll have to go now so be sure to eat" and with that, she left.

"And what the hell are you reading Fred?" I asked in annoyance. This spirit never learned, every time he pops out from nowhere he's holding a stupid magazine, and every time he bring it here I'm always burning it to ashes. And he's still haven't stop bringing and it's making me mad.

"The best book that I ever laid my eyes on" he said still looking at the thing he called book.

"First, It's not the best book because Jane Austen's works are the best book in history" I said proudly "And second, is that thing even a book?" my expression suddenly changed into disgust. I can never really fathom how men can take a fancy on that dreadful thing. Then he looked at me lazily.

"Tsk tsk tsk. Jane Austen and her fellow feminists, you guys are dissing the fun" he said motioning his dirty feet in the chair, making his combat boots' way to the chair, I cleared my throat making him look at me. I glared, the fact that he won't help me clean his mess is annoying enough.

"Sorry" he muttered.

"You're hopeless. Anyway I'm retreating back to my office to read the letter that came earlier. Ugh, I have a feeling I won't be happy after I read it" I said, but when he didn't talked back I looked at where he is, but he's already gone.

****

"Oooo...I think you really should lend them some help, remember last time one of your client send more than one letter?" I gasped in response, this guy really know how to startle me.

"Will you please stop popping whenever you want, a little 'hey the dead has arrived' would be more pleasant" I said through my teeth, I sighed in defeat, he's right though, last time a client send me a letter after one, it turned out to be a very complicated matter when I arrived, same as when everything's over. The casualties were devastating.

"Well where's the fun in that?" he replied grinning. "So? What's the verdict?" he beamed.

"There's shouldn't be a 'fun' in that" I gave him an annoyed look and took a deep breath.

"It's not like I have a choice because I'm not that heartless to just let it be, I'm also curious who that 'friend' is because this case is somewhat similar to what happened years ago and I don't want a repeat of that as much as possible and another thing that'll haunt me in my slumber is the last thing I want"
