I was sitting in the passenger seat of the car, Tamino next to me in the drivers seat. Neither of us saying much, which was fine. I was soaking up the moment; driving down a deserted Tuscan road, my head out the window, sun shining down on my face as I look out at the countryside watching the rows of cypress trees fly by, sitting next to the man I love. Before I knew it, we were enter a small town that looked to be in very pristine shape. I smiled and admired its beauty. I noticed that there was far more greenery within the city than I had seen in France or Belgium. Tamino stopped in front of a hotel near the edge of the town. It was quite pretty; a large sand colored building with a red tiled roof. I got out of the car and went to grab my suitcase out of the back seat. Tamino followed suit. We checked into the hotel and went up to our room. We spent the next couple of hours unpacking our things and just hanging out, enjoying each other's company.
It was now about 6:30 and I was laying on the bed reading a book and gently stroking Tamino's hair. He turns his head towards me and asks «Veux-tu faire une promenade?»
« D'accord. » I respond. The two of us get up and put our shoes on before walking back out onto the street. We walked aimlessly for 40 minutes or so, just talking and enjoying being together. After our little outing we decide to find a little restaurant to have dinner. Before we leave I decide to change I decided to change into a flowy white dress with little forget-me-nots on it.
Before we left Tamino smiled and said « Tu es magnifique. »
« Merci beaucoup. » I respond, a blush growing on my face. When we got outside I look out to see the sun sinking closer to the horizon, the clouds of orange, yellow and red contrasting perfectly with the wide rolling hills and the silhouettes of the trees. We found this charming little restaurant where we spent the next hour and a half eating, talking, laughing and sipping on wine. On our way back to the hotel, a wave of tiredness hit me. Once we got to our hotel, I told Tamino « Je suis fatigué. Je m'en vais me coucher. »
« D'accord mon amour, je te rejoindrai dans un petit moment. » He responds sweetly, placing a kiss on my forehead.
« D'accord. » I say lightly before grabbing a pair of pajamas and my toothbrush and heading to the bathroom where I change and brush my teeth. I sneak into bed and try to fall asleep. Shortly after, Tamino slips into the bed and lies next to me, snaking his arms around my waist.
« Bonne nuit mon amour. » He whispers.
« Bonne nuit. » I whisper back. Then, taking me by surprise, he kisses me. And, in that moment, all I could feel was the bliss of simply being able to love this man.Quick authors note:
I usually try not to self promote but I just started writing a fanfic about Johanna Mason, and if you'd check that out I'd highly appreciate it.
