"look me in the eyes and repeat what you just said." emily says, and jj laughs, tossing her head back as an excuse not to look at her.

"i said," she tilts her head down and meets emily's gaze, smiling disappearing, "you have a very kissable mouth."

"oh, yeah?" emily teases, and jj can smell the alcohol on her breath.

maybe this is a bad idea. this feels like it would be a bad idea if either of them were sober - but neither of them are and derek is winning and jj'll be damned if she lets him and she feels more intoxicated by the person in front of her than the buzz she feels from the three (or four) gin and tonics she's drowned.

she is acutely aware of her friends on the other side of the bar, waiting for them to come back and finish the game, but it's not her fault the way emily's hair curls unbrushed is so distracting.

"prove it." emily whispers and jj leans forward with reckless abandon and presses their mouths together.

if emily pulls away, jj will too. if emily stops, jj will too. if emily says this is a bad idea, jj will be inclined to believe her.

but she doesn't.

it's sloppy and she's pretty sure she hears derek wolf whistle as spencer mutters it's about time, but it feels kind of perfect.

when jj finally pulls away for air, she breathlessly whispers, "is that enough proof?"

she thinks emily's leaning in for another is a pretty good response.
