Always a little bit confused.
That was the words you would say if someone asked you to describe Calum. Always a little bit confused with no real reason to be, to be more exact.
Oh, and grumpy. Definitely grumpy.
The best grumpy moment had been the day before, when Calum had pushed you down the bed, one hand moving to pin your hands above your head, something you quickly figured out was something he liked. He enjoyed being in control, being the one on top, deciding how things went down and honestly, his dominant side was something you loved, you had no complainants at all, you loved the feeling of his body pressing down against yours, his teeth on your skin and his hands down your body, but that day, you wanted to try something else, so when he moved his hands to wrap his finger around your wrists, you told him to stop.
He froze above you, stopping immediately. "What?" he asked, voice rough, but you knew he'd never do anything you weren't okay with.
"I wanna try something."
"Try what?"
"Turn over."
"What?"
Slow, you had to add to your list. He was kinda slow in his thinking.
You groaned, grabbing his upper arm, turning you around rather violently, straddling his hips and pressing his arms down on each side of his head. Calum stared at you for a few moments, just staring, eyes dark and wide, then a smirk spread across his lips.
"I like your thinking", he mumbled, reaching up to press our lips together.
It was a good idea, after all, and seeing him arch his back underneath you, biting his lip as you for once could run your teeth down his collarbones, make him moan in the same ways he makes you let out those sounds, it felt so good. His fingers leaving bruises on your hips as he held them tight under his grip as you were riding him getting way deeper than you had ever gotten before.
Super fucking sexy, was another thing you had to add to your lips, because to be fair, that was exactly what he was.
"Fuck, so close", Calum groaned, thrusting his hips up to meet yours, and you threw your head back in pleasure, letting out a moan. "So good for me, baby, so good-"
You pressed your hips down, the feeling of Calum filling you up so good driving you over the edge way quicker than you wanted it to.
"Fuck, Calum, fuck-"
His fingers pressed down your hips even harder and thrusts were coming off more desperate and-
Anyways, back to the point.
Calum was super grumpy a lot, though it was easy to cheer him up. Three days after you came back from the camping, he took you on a date. He knew exactly how it would go down and you were pretty sure he'd been staying up googling after good places to have your first date when you have a lot of money because he took you to a super fucking fancy restaurant, not a simple café as he suggested in the beginning, and the moment you stepped through the doors, you regretted saying to when he offered buying something much more expensive for you to wear.
"Cal, I look like a trashcan in here", you whispered in his hear and he chuckled quietly.
"At least I don't."
"You're supposed to say no, you don't look like a trashcan, you're beautiful."
"No, you don't look like a trashcan, you're beautiful", he repeated and you glared angrily at him as he just smirked back at you.
"Not helping", you rolled your eyes.
"Sorry babe, I tried."
"You barely tried."
"You looked fucking stunning, and I don't care what other's think, okay? You're way more beautiful than anyone else in here."
You smiled softly at him. "I-"
Someone cleared their throat behind you, and you almost jumped a good thirty centimetres in the air, glaring back at the man behind you before you realized he was working at the restaurant, judged by the black and white clothes he was wearing and the badge with his name on over his chest.
Christopher Wells
"Hi, Christopher", you said, giving him a big smile.
Christopher smiled back, but it seemed fake as hell. "Hello and welcome. Would you like a table?"
"Yep", Calum said shortly, "for two."
"I can see that", Christopher said, "follow me please. And Miss, may I take your jacket?"
"My, uh-?"
"She can take it herself", Calum almost spat out and you gave him a quick glare.
"I can, but thank you very much, Christopher", you smiled and he smiled back, this time it didn't seem as fake.
He lead you through the café, all the way over to an empty corner where he put out your chair for you to sit down, and you grinned hugely.
"Cal, take notes", you laughed and he rolled his eyes. You could see a small twitch on Christopher's list as he told you he'd be back with the menus in just a minute.
"What a fake idiot", Calum muttered.
"Come on, he's just doing his job!"
"His job should be sorting trash."
You huffed out a laugh, kicking him under the table. "You're such an idiot."
Also, add idiot to the list of things Calum is.
"At least I make you smile", he shrugged and yeah, add funny too.
You rolled your eyes, "that happens."
You knew your friends thought your relationship was too not serious, that you joked about each other, told each other mean things and didn't have any good moments, but they didn't know. All they knew was sex and mean comments, but they didn't know the other stuff you did. The movie nights, cuddling up and crying to Disney movies, talking about feelings (that happened), and the nice, tight hugs you shared a bit too often. He was a softie at heart.
They didn't see that side of you, but you didn't really care. As long as you knew it was there, it was all you needed.
"Here's the menus", Christopher suddenly interrupted you, "one to the beautiful lady and one to you."
You grinned. "Thanks, Chris, what do you recommend?"
He leaned over your shoulder, his lips a little bit too close to your ear, and you leaned away slightly, feeling Calum staring at you.
"I love this one", Christopher said, tilting his head to look at you and woah, okay, too close.
Calum cleared his throat, loudly and clearing, glaring at Christopher like he wanted to kill him and you clenched you jaw. "Okay, thanks", you said, "is there any prices?"
"I'm paying", Calum said quickly, "so no worries. Take what you want."
"It's kind of expensive", Christopher muttered, "I gotta be honest, but it's super good. If Mister here can pay, though."
"Why do you think I brought her here?" Calum snapped.
"Okay, Cal, what do you want?" you said loudly, ignoring his comment.
"I wanna think about it", he said, staring challenging up at Christopher, who stared back.
"I'll return in just a few minutes, then."
"Sounds great", Calum nodded and the second Christopher was out of hearing distance, he groaned loudly, "what a fucking ass."
"Try to be nice, will you?"
"He was practically kissing you!"
You pulled a face, "yeah, that was kinda gross. He's like, a lot older than me."
"You're like, I don't know", Calum said, glaring at you, "mine."
A smile spread across your lips. "That too. You jealous, or what?"
"No."
Oh, he definitely was. Add jealous to the list, too.
You had a great night, it was fun, you laughed a lot, and Calum was his normal, stupid self, but he always managed to make you smile. His snarky comments and random jokes were two of the reasons you loved being with him, he made every minute you spent together special from the other.
You knew you were falling in love with him, but you weren't afraid of it. It felt right with him, like things would finally fall in place again.
Christopher though, on the other hand, was all over you the entire night and you knew it. Calum didn't shut up, but he didn't throw any rude comment either, you knew he wanted it to be as good for you as possible.
He was over your shoulder, he was smiling in your face, but he was nice. It wasn't nothing you hadn't experienced before. You knew he was flirting with you, but you didn't pay too much attention to it because you really didn't care, you had other things to look at.
For example, the pretty boy in front of you.
Two hours later, Calum was paying, and Christopher was humming together with the song on the radio, and you were trying your very best not to pee yourself from laughter as the first lines from Amnesia started to playing.
"It's a good song", you said, holding your breath to not starting to laugh out loud as Christopher nodded.
"Yeah, it definitely is."
"Nice voice", Calum added as his part started playing, and Christopher nodded again.
"Very soft, but it sounds really good."
"I agree", he said seriously and you snorted out a laughter, quickly hiding it by coughing way too loudly. Christopher gave you a weird look, but didn't comment about it.
"I'll admit I like to see them, I'll admit I feel alone, and all my friends keep asking why I'm not around", Calum mumbled along and you smiled softly at him.
"You know what band it is?" Christopher asked, "might look them up."
"Ah, yeah, wait, it's on the tip of my tongue", Calum placed one finger on his lip, pretending to think, "y/n, you know what it is?"
"It's somewhere back in my head", you agreed, "can't come up with the name, though."
"It's tough", Calum nodded, "I can take the receipt, though."
Christopher handed it over to him. "Here you go, thank you for choosing our restaurant, and I hope I'll see you again very soon."
"Maybe", you nodded, "thanks for everything."
"Oh, this is for you, Miss", he added quickly when Calum turned away to pick up his jacket. He gave you a small paper, a little note, that you hesitantly put down your pocket and he winked at you.
Oh, his number.
You could laugh about it later, burning it to ash while Calum was filming.
"Seems about it", Calum nodded. "God, the voices of this band, what a nice harmony, it's almost like I can picture myself standing there with them on stage, preforming..."
You didn't even try to hold back your laugh this time, grinning hugely at Christopher's confused look.
"Very nice voices", he agreed after a few seconds of silence.
"Also, song's Amnesia", you said, a smirk on your lips.
"Band is 5 seconds of summer", Calum added, "also, my band. Come on, y/n, let's go."
You grinned, grabbed his hand as he started to walk away from an even more confused waiter.
"Google Calum Hood!" Calum shouted over his shoulders, "see ya, Chris!"
You were pretty sure you laughed all the way back to your house, and even more as you closed the door behind you, and probably even when Calum started kissing down your jaw, mumbling encouraging things against your skin, but somewhere there, you started to stop thinking, so you weren't really sure when you stopped laughing and found better use of your mouth.
Like, for example, shoving your tongue desperately down his throat, moaning loudly as his hands found their way inside your dress, up your thighs, lifting you up over the table because there was no time to get to the bed, and you didn't mind. No, you definitely didn't when his hands were down your pants, his lips sucking on your neck and his hips grinding against yours.
Calum might be a little bit confused, grumpy, slow, an idiot and jealous as hell, but those things weren't necessarily bad. On the other side though, he was also super fucking sexy, had a cute smile and a laugh that made you fall for him even faster than you already were, he was funny and he always made you laugh and his heart was actually soft like a teddy bear's.
On a second thought, switching between watching Disney movies and having the best sex of your life, was definitely way better than hating each other.
