Chapter 3

I'm awoken by a soft voice, and a soft touch to my shoulder. "Emily, wake up it's almost 9am you need to eat some breakfast." Sodo says to me trying to be quiet. I grunt and slowly open my eyes to see vessel standing over me, I can't help but smile, I see a smile creep onto his face. "Good morning sleepy head." He says "get up!" He says excitedly. "It's pancakes this morning!" He starts jumping. "Okay you need to cool it down, I just woke up, you have too much energy at this hour." I stretch my arms and crawl out of bed, I throw some slippers on and walk side by side with sodo, his tail swaying behind me protectively. As we walk to the kitchen I see a few sisters of sin, they all smile and wave, I give them a wave back. We walk to the table, I see all the ghouls, including cumulus, and sunshine. I wave to them and ironically sit across from Aether who gives me a faint smile. "Good morning." I say to everyone. They all chant their good mornings back. Sodo brings me a plate of pancakes and sits next to me. Mountain and cumulus are sitting next to one another giggling with eachother, and rain and sunshine doing the same. Sodo leans over to me. "They're mates." He whispers I nod and smile. "So Emily, get everything unpacked?" Aether says to me, out of the corner of my eye I see sodo shoot Aether a death glare, I instinctively place my hand on his thigh, he looks over wide eyed, and immediately calms down, with a huge smile on his face. "Yeah almost, I have maybe 1 or 2 more boxes to unpack." I say back to him, grabbing my fork and eating my food. "Good I'm glad to hear! Hey tonight's movie night, want to join us? It's scary movies tonight!" Aether says excited I look at sodo, who's glaring at Aether. "I was going to ask her! Back the fuck off!" Sodo stands up and slams his hands on the table. I jump at the sudden actions from sodo. "Listen dude, I asked her to come with everyone not at a date chill the fuck out!" Aether says aggravated. All the ghouls look at sodo, looking back and forth between me, Aether and sodo. All can see I'm clearly uncomfortable at the moment. "Sodo please calm down, it's not the big of a deal." I tell him he looks at me his eyes deep red. "Please." I say quietly. He huffs and sits back down. I finish my food, and rinse my food off, everyone pretty much ate in silence after that whole exchange. I walk up to my room and see Aether. "Hey, um I know about the mate thing, am I really Sodos mate?" I ask him. He looks around to see if sodo is near me and sighs. "Unfortunately I think so, until you're 100% he'll continue to be hostile to any ghoul who even looks at you." He says quietly. "Should I be worried about sodo wanting to be with me?" I ask him. He shakes his head "no he's a really sweet ghoul, he's my best friend. When he's not acting like this. But he'll treat you right. I promise. Not get lost before I get my head ripped off." He chuckles before walking into his room. I'm still a little overwhelmed with all of this. I do like sodo. I really do. I walk to my room and hop in the shower.
Once I get dried off and changed I do my hair and put on a little makeup. I hear a knock at my door. I walk over and see sodo staring at me, eyes wide I see a smile creep to his face. "You look so pretty." He says in awe, it looks like hes about to start drooling over me. His tail swaying excited. "Come in sodo." I giggle, we sit on my bed and talk for a while. "Emily I wanted to be the one to ask you to movie night.." he say's disappointed. I look at him and give him a small smile. "Then ask me." I say back to him smiling like a little school girl. He sighs and sits up. "Emily, would you like to go to movie night with me, as my date?" He asks nervously. I look into his red eyes. "No." I say sternly. I see his face darken and see a sense of worry and sadness wash over him. I can't help but laugh. I playfully nudge him. "Of course I'll go with you." I sighs in relief and giggles. "You scared me so bad!" He pulls me back into the bed and tickles me. I laugh and kick trying to get him to stop, I can't breathe, after a few moments I look at him. "Sodo?" I ask he just hums in response, "can I see your face?" His body tensed up. His tail lays flat on the bed. "I don't know.. I'm not really supposed to, plus I don't want you to think I'm ugly.." he says quietly. "Please?" I give him puppy dog eyes and he sighs. "Okay.." he unbuckles his mask and slowly pulls it off. My jaw drops, I can't help but looks at him. He's got horns, his face almost a fleshy gray color, but he's beautiful. I reach my hand up to his face. "You're so handsome." I just look at him, a smile forms and his eyes turn a bright red. "Really?" He asks his tail grazing the bed. I nod at him. He grabs my cheek and leans towards me. Our faces inches from each other, I can feel his breath on my lips. Suddenly I hear a knock. "Movie time!" Aether yells through the door. Sodo growls and leans back. And mumbled something under his breath. I smile back at him. He sits up, I follow suit. "Sodo?" He just looks at me with his beautiful red eyes. I lean in and gently place my lips against his. His tail perking up, the kiss is soft and passionate, but quickly becomes needy and hungry. I pull away breathless. "Wow." He says smiling "better than I imagined." I giggle to myself and stand up reaching for his hand. "You heard Aether. Movie time." He grunts and grabs my hand. "Can't we just stay here?" He says like a child. I walk towards him and pull him close. "Sodo, if I say I'm yours will you come to movie night?" His eyes light up and his tail sways excitedly. He nods "yes!" He says. "Okay then, I'm yours. Now lets go." I take his and and we walk to the little movie rooms. His tail wrapped around my ankle as we walk. "Someone looks extra happy!" Aether says smiling sodo looks at sodo and smiles. "She's mine!" He says happily I can't help but laugh. All the ghouls laugh with me and get comfortable. I sit next to sodo and cuddle up close to him. He grabs a blanket and drapes it over the both of us. Mountain puts on the shining. About 45 minutes into the movie everyone but sodo and I fell asleep. I look over at sodo, who's looking down at me smiling. "Can we go cuddle?" He asks softly trying not to wake the other ghouls. I nod and he stands and picks me up cradling me like a baby. I let out a small yelp. But cover my mouth looking to see if I woke anyone up.
Sodo giggles and we walk to his room. His room was about the same size as mine maybe a little bigger, he had band posters all over his walls, his bed was a little bigger than mine, it had black sheets and blankets.
He set me on the bed and laid next to me. I just looked at him and he smiled. "Sodo I do want to take things slow. But I am yours." I lay my hand on his cheek. "We can do that, I just want to make you happy." I lay my head on his chest, he was warm. He ran his fingers through my hair and his tail wrapped around my thigh. His heart was racing but quickly slowed after a few moment. I felt my eyes get heavy. If only he knew playing with my hair made me sleepy. I fell asleep on his chest. He kissed my head softly.

Sodos POV:
I feel bad for how I reacted at breakfast I saw her jump when I slammed my hands but I was so blinded by jealousy I didn't acknowledge it. I walk up to her room, and hear the water running, I stand outside her door waiting for her to be done. I hear aethers door open. "Hey." He says I turn and look at him. "I'm sorry man, I know you don't want her but I can't help but feel you're trying to get in the way.." I tell him and look down. He just looks at me floored that I apologized "dude it's okay, I know you can't control it, but she talked to me after breakfast and she's scared. You're really intense, and you're my best friend but she's my friend too, just take care of her." Aether says and walks down the hall to mountains room. "I plan to." I say.
I hear the water turn off after a few minutes and knock on the door. I hear her footsteps get closer and I feel a pit of excitement race through me. As soon as she opens the door I can't help but see how beautiful she is. She looks so much like cirrus but so different. "Wow.." I say she giggles and pulls me inside, closing the door behind me. I sit on her bed and she sits next to mean leaving little to no space between us. I can feel my heart racing. "I wanted to be the one to ask you to movie night.." I look at her and see her face light up a little. "Ask me." She says, all of a sudden I feel nervous. As soon as I ask her her face goes stoic. "No." She says plainly and my heart sinks. I feel like crying, I feel the tears welling up and a knot in my throat. I feel her nudge my shoulder after a few moments. "Of course I'll go with you!" She says laughing. She scared me horribly, I grab her and tickle her, her laugh is music to my ears. After a few minutes we're both lying her her bed and I decide to take my chance, I lean close to her , her lips millimeters from mine. As I'm about to kiss her I hear a knock. "Movie time!" Aether says loudly. I groan and throw my head back. "Fucking cockblock.." I mumble to myself, I hear Emily giggle. Before I can even react I feel her place her lips on mine. I feel a shock of electricity shoot through my entire body. Her lips were so soft. I wanted so much more. Before I could think she pulls away smiling at me. Her eyes glowing. "Better than I imagined." I wasn't lying.

About 45 minutes into the movie everyone is asleep, Emily is leaning on my my tail wrapped around her thigh, I feel so calm with her next to me. I've never mated with a human. I knew I had to be gentle with her. "Can we go cuddle?" I ask her her face lights up. She nods and I don't hesitate to pick her up and carry her to my room. I close the door behind us and set her down gently. Once we both get comfortable I pull her close to me. "I want to take things slow." She says softly. I planned on taking things slow with her, I didn't want to overwhelm her, or even scare her off, I didn't want her to leave me like cirrus did. She lays on top of me, my tail wrapped around her and I gently play with her hair. I can feel her slowly relax into me, before I knew it she's asleep. I kiss her head and smile. I know I should take her to her room, but she looks so peaceful I don't want to wake her. I whisper to her "I love you, more than you know." I hold her tightly and fall asleep with her in my arms.
