Chapter 2

Today was my first day of school and I was ecstatic .... note the sarcasm . I rolled out of bed , to get my day started . The faster I got it started the faster it would be over . So I sucked it up and decided right then in there I would try to make the best of my day .

While putting the last touch of my make up on my mom came in my room and told me it was time to leave . I dressed up in a blue body-con dress I picked up at Forever21 a jean jacket and my favorite black Jesus sandals . I was felling myself today , especially since I wand curled my hair . I grabbed my back pack and rushed out before my mom killed me .

When I arrived to school I was at least 20 minutes late . For that I was happy I didn't have to worry about everybody staring . I hated being the center of attention . I knew I was in for it when I walked in my first period class late. The lady asked my name and gave me my schedule . I searched high and low over the huge school looking for my first period class. I had Eniglish III Ms. Roslyn , there was a petite girl with long hair in the hallway. I politely asked her she smiled brightly and agreed to take me . "So what's your name , I asked ?" I'm Katie McDaniel she said and you ? I'm Taylor Williams it's nice to meet you . Nice to meet you too you should eat lunch with me and my friends . I smile okay sure . Maybe things will go better then I thought . Well were here see you later Taylor . I wave goodbye and take a deep breath and fix my hair before I walk inside my class.

When I got inside boy was I nervous , I just stood there smiling I felt so awkward . "Well it's nice of you to join us ... Uhmm what's your name ," Ms. Roslyn asked ? After that all nervousness went away why was she being so rude already . For god sake bitch I'm new I didn't know where I was going ! Instead of saying the things I thought I rolled my eyes and said Taylor Williams . She directed me to take a seat so much for a good start .

After I got settled in my seat my teacher asked for the summer reading assignment , all magnet kids had to do it. I knew nothing about it I was so embarrassed I was the only one in the class not prepared . I reached over to grab the assignments from my neighbor . I didn't expect to see him . He was so handsome he had brown hair with a to die for smile . The only problem was he was white . His color wasn't a problem to me but he probably didn't care for girls of color .But damn how could I not be attracted to him . His big beautiful brown eyes were ones you could easily get lost in , kind of like what I was doing now . He cleared his throat and smiled again . I smiled back and grabbed the papers . The rest of the class we just sneaked looks at each other . I wanted to talk to him so bad . But I didn't I'm sure he had a pretty white girlfriend anyways . And boys like him didn't date girls like me . I never knew why ever since kindergarten , know one ever said it but we all knew . They never separated us but still somehow we just weren't one . He probably wouldn't want to talk to a girl where I'm from anyways I thought . I was kind of sad but that's the way it was , the way it always has been .
