In Santiago's story we see him returning home to the isle of Encanto but when he's home, he's immediately bombarded by all of his family members but it's very noticeable that his dad's not around at all but only Tomás doesn't know where his uncle is at or what happened to him. Anyways, the isle soon gets attacked by Bonnie & her cat crew which was a bit tough to fight but they soon ran off when realizing that Connor means no business but also had the cats listen to him. After a while & explaining about what's going on which shocked everyone but not too much since Santiago has dealt with a lot of trouble within the sea.
After being home for a while Santiago realized that everything was fine & they didn't really need him anymore at all or anything like that. They were fine on their own without his protection as if he didn't really matter so he decided to head down to the beachside area & drew in the sand with Pepito in his hat like old time sakes. As he was drawing, he drew closer to the sand, but the water moved out of the way which confused him. So, he decided to test something & managed to move the water over his drawing which erased it. That's when he figured out his power is water like the god of the ocean & sea.. Just then he started to hear screaming so he rushed back home to find almost everything on fire which was caused by a fire black ooze demon so Santiago used his powers to defeat it the best he can which he succeeded & shocked everyone with his powers but this made the J9 really excited that Santiago got his powers, but Santago saw how proud his mama, family, & friends are for him.
