a girl entirely too obsessed with marine life, and a boy who just wants to play hockey, realize they are living in the beginning of the end.
OR
JULIETTE"JULES" GRAVES, a sixteen year-old girl living in Washington, D.C.. She's quiet when you first meet her, and then, in no time, she'll start talking your ear off. She's a little bit sour, but she's the perfect mix of that and sweet. Her favorite thing to talk about is useless ocean life related facts, as her mother would say.
With her mom being a widow, she struggles to support Jules and her little sister, Rory. Her mom balances two jobs as a store clerk and as a preschool teacher. She's barely able to put food on the table for more than one person. After a hard year as a teacher, the school decided to lay her off. Missus Graves, Hannah, doesn't know what to do. She can barely feed herself, and a little Rory. When worse comes to worst, Hannah Graves sends Jules off to live with relatives in Atlanta, Georgia for the summer. Just until she has the time to pick herself back up again and get another job.
WHEN HER LIFE flips upside down and the dead start walking, she finds solace in a group of strangers who know no better than she does.

vii : in the description i mentioned slight oc x daryl, and i want to clarify that the oc i'm referring to is not juliette. they have a joel-ellie type bond (the last of us). the oc i am talking about will be revealed later in the story (probably next book)
viii : i switch between the devices i write on, so sometimes the typos are more noticeable. i hate reading my own work, so i rarely proofread. there's bound to be typos, but i still try my best to catch them eventually
