"You want me to sing?"
"Yes."
"On your tour?"
"Yes."
I didn't know what to say. My eyes fluttered in disbelief.
"Are you sure?"
Taylor chuckled a bit, and took my hands in hers.
"I wouldn't be asking you if I wasn't sure. Obviously, you don't have to, and you wouldn't have to perform until you're comfortable, and not at every show, and just during the piano or guitar songs since you've been getting really good."
I looked down, thinking about it in silence for a second. Taylor was so adamant about it. It had me thinking that maybe she was plotting something, she is a mastermind after all.
I looked back up to see Taylor clearly waiting for my answer. I couldn't say no, and something like this could start up my music career, even though it was way earlier than I had planned.
"Okay. Yeah I'll sing on your tour." I smiled, causing Taylor to squeal and pull me into a hug.
"Hey mom...I can't breathe..." I croaked out.
"Oh, sorry." She said, releasing me then smiling sympathetically.
"Well, when does rehearsal start?"
Taylor was about to speak, when my phone buzzed. I picked it up and my face immediately lit up when I saw who it was.
I looked up at Taylor, who rolled her eyes knowingly. "Go ahead." She smiled, winking at me.
I practically squealed and went up to my room, answering the call from my girlfriend.
"Hi Xo!" I beamed, smiling like an idiot.
"Hey." She replied, not matching my energy. I immediately knew something was up.
We'd been calling and FaceTiming every single day since I left. Sure it was a sort of long distance relationship, but we'd only not be in physical contact for about two weeks. We were one week in, and everything was going fine. From my perspective at least.
"What's wrong?" I ask in confusion.
"I'm sorry Y/n..."
My heart dropped to my stomach. I suddenly got an oddly nauseous feeling that made me want to jump straight off the tallest building of Arizona.
"What are you talking about?" It was more like a demand than a question.
"I'm um...I'm breaking up with you."
There was a long silence.
"Why?"
"I don't know. I just...fell out of love."
I knew she was lying. I always knew what Xochitl sounded like when she was lying.
I clear my throat, my voice breaking slightly. "Okay."
There was another silence.
"Yeah. Bye."
I watched her name disappear from my phone screen.
I couldn't cry for some reason. I've always considered myself a crybaby up until this point. I went back downstairs to see Taylor. She was cooking something that would probably make me feel better if I had an appetite.
She looked at me with a smile on her face. She had no idea what happened. Her smile faded slightly when she saw me.
"That was short. You okay sweetheart?"
I put on an unconvincing fake smile. "Yeah I'm fine. I just need to go on a walk..."
Taylor knew I wasn't fine, and I knew she knew that, but she also didn't want to bother me too much.
"Okay. Well, be safe. Don't go too far." She said.
I nod and smile weakly. "Got it."
As I walked on the sidewalk, I could hear my phone buzzing due to the large amount of texts I was getting. People had definitely found out by then.
After a few minutes I decide to finally take out my phone. The first text I see is one from my friend Kenna.
You might wanna see this :(
*1 attachment*Next ting I knew I was hunched over, throwing up on the street.
Miss me?
