The chilly breeze blew through the opened windows, leaving the house a cool temperature. The smell of sausage ran through the house. It was a small three-story home in Bakewell, England. It was home to the Evergreens, a muggle family with three daughters.
Ivy Evergreen was the eldest daughter. An adventurous spirit and she always puts herself before others. Ivy knew she couldn't let others, such as her family, hold her back on her dreams and goals in life. Ivy spoke her mind freely not letting anything or anyone hold her back. She's someone everyone dreams they are.
Dorothea Evergreen was the middle child. She had a very brave soul and a kind heart. Dorothea always made sure to take care of her siblings and her family as a whole, always putting them above herself. She was the opposite of Ivy, holding back her dreams and goals to care for her family. Putting her family above all else.
Willow Evergreen was the youngest child. She, unlike the rest of her family, was a witch. When Willow was eleven, she climbed into a tree but then slipped trying to come back down. Her family watched as she floated just above the ground before suddenly dropping. A few days later, the family had a letter addressed to Willow arrive at the front door. She was accepted into Hogwarts, a school of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
Splash! Willow shot up from her slumber, her body now soaked in ice-cold water. Before she could even utter a word Ivy tossed the bucket toward Willow and ran out of the room a laughing mess. "I swear Ivy!" Willow called out, but Ivy was already down the hall.
Willow pushed her now wet blanket off her and pushed her wet hair away from her face. Standing up, she grabbed a towel to go take a shower.
Today was the day Willow left for Hogwarts, she needed to look her best coming back from the summer holiday. As she stepped up she whipped the mirror. The towel wrapped around her body as she brushed her hair.
Over the summer Willow had gained a rather unusual ability. Feeling others' emotions. She hadn't spoken to anyone yet about it. Her muggle parents would not understand and she worried since no one had talked about this ability before with any other witches or wizards, it could be dangerous.
Willow paused for a moment, looking at herself in the mirror. It had been one thing being at home, staying in her room all day. She didn't have to feel everyone all the time. But going to Hogwarts, it would get harder.
She felt responsible for everyone's pain. She knows how people are feeling, shouldn't she help people, let people know she understands, and help them through that pain? Willow's sister Dorothea recently broke up with her boyfriend of two years.
Willow felt all that pain her sister felt, she comforted her sister, and she knew exactly what to say and do because she felt those feelings too. Willow was fixing people, using her ability for good. But it was slowly killing Willow.
