I was dry, my brother hadn't come out of his shell for at least two weeks, I used what little strength I had to watch my surroundings, but everything was a blur. Which is why I thought I was hallucinating, on the day I was finally rescued.
I blankly stared into the light, not really thinking about much, I basically checked out from the world. But then I saw large wings, then hands reaching towards me. I was being carried to Heaven I thought, me and my brother were being carried to Heaven. I then felt my body get set down on a soft surface, it turned out to be wet dirt, so wet I felt the moisture absorbed into my skin, I was able to move again, I was healed. I saw the thing that healed me walk by, it wasn't human, it had a large flat square head with orange eyes and a jagged orange mouth, it had black wings with red diamond shapes on both wings, it had two different colored and shaped arms, and it had a long black tail with a half red spike on the end.
It left the room I was in, I ate some nearby leaves feeling relieved, able to taste good food once again. The creature then returned later that night with my brother's shell, it sat his shell next to me after pouring water on him and shining a light inside his shell. "I'm sorry... I wish I got him sooner..." The creature spoke to me. It then got on its knees looking into the tank I'm in "I'm sorry I can't release you either... Your species is invasive... But I'm gonna make sure you live out your life comfortably". The creature then left the room, leaving me in the tank, I cried looking at my brother as I hugged his shell tight.
"Are you okay?" A voice asked, I looked around trying to figure out where the voice was coming from. I then looked up seeing a large cage with two mice inside looking back at me, "What's wrong?" One of the mice asked. "I lost my brother... A human boy broke his shell" I whimpered, "You mean the nephew of that demon that saved you? For her being a demon she's nice compared to that brat of a nephew" the other mouse spoke. "That creature is a demon?" I asked, "Yeah, a friendly one to be exact. She's not mean at all. She rescued us from being killed by snakes or scientists that test on animals. Every animal here has been rescued from danger" the mouse spoke.
Wait, there were more animals? I thought I was alone with these mice. Turns out there were, there was three cats, one cockatoo, five fish, and more snails. These snails weren't like me, but they were also consider invasive, but in this place, they were loved. My wish was coming true, a place where peace was real, where there was no such thing as violence or killing. This demon considered every animal a friend, this demon had something that hardly any humans have but need more of:
Love.
