After that, each class was distributed 300 points by the school. In addition, Mashima-sensei gave them a booklet that listed all of the ways they could obtain bonus points. It also explained where to get drinking water and food, as well as essential necessities.
They probably could buy a lot of items with the given 300 points. Nevertheless, when this special test period was over, each class's remaining points would be added to their total class points. For that reason, it was best to save them as most as possible and not spend them wastefully.
Other than that, there were also penalties applied for classes whose students fell under the following conditions:
1. Retirement: Penalty of 30 points.
2. Polluting the environment: Penalty of 20 points.
3. Being absent during the 8 AM or 8 PM roll call: Penalty of 5 points for each student.
4. Act of violence toward another class/Robbing another class/causing damage to another class's property: the offending student's class immediately got disqualified and that student would lose all of his/her private points.
"I don't want to be rude but Sasuke... Are you sure that this way will lead us to a suitable spot for camping?" The boy walking beside the Uchiha questioned him in doubt. He was Ryuji Kanzaki. Currently, class B's students were following a person to a spot that they even had no idea where it was. The person who was leading them was Sasuke Uchiha.
"Don't worry, Ryuji. I'm aware of what I'm doing and I have my own reason to choose that place." His Uchiha friend responded confidently. After a few minutes of walking, they finally arrived at the position they needed.
"Here we are, the spot that I told you guys," Sasuke spoke up. It was a vacant lot in the deep forest with a well at the center.
"By utilizing the water in this well, we can save a lot of points from buying drinking water."
"Wow! That's a great idea, Uchiha!" Shibata shouted with excitement. "As expected of our genius!"
"But how did you find this place and come up with such an impressive strategy?" Hamaguchi looked astonished, asking the Uchiha out of curiosity.
"It's Hoshinomiya-sensei's plan. She told me about this spot to give our class an advantage in this exam." Sasuke lied to them in order to hide his true ability.
"We're so lucky to have Hoshinomiya-sensei as our homeroom teacher!" Chihiro claimed happily. Yet, she hadn't known the true nature of Hoshinomiya-sensei.
"Yes!" The others simply agreed with a nod. Little did they know, Kanzaki and Ichinose suspected his false answer. He certainly was summoned by Hoshinomiya-sensei at the same time with them but their teacher had never mentioned it in their discussion. In the end, said two persons kept silent about it to not raise any suspicion from their classmates.
"Alright, Guys! For now, why don't we discuss how to spend our points?" Ichinose suggested. It later took them 20 minutes to choose which items they should buy. The list of things class B would buy included: Mosquito spray; hammocks; cookware; a small tent; some lanterns; a temporary toilet; fishing rods; a water shower. They had to spend 110 points on them and the 190 remaining points would be saved until the end of this exam.
In addition, Chihiro Shiranami volunteered to be the leader and was selected for that position. The reason mostly was because she insisted she wanted to do that.
