She was still surprised she had gotten in, that on scholarship, but as she entered the campus with her duffel bag and suitcase, she knew these would be the best years of her life

______

"Lea!" cried her best friend Tanya. She ran and hugged her, and they talked to each other for a bit while waiting in line for their dorm enlistments and admission packets.

"How was the year away?"

"It was a year, that's for sure. Aaron decided it was a good idea to try to learn how to become a magician."

".....a magician?" The last Lea had heard of Aaron was on their Facetime a few months ago.

"It's a long story."

The line was thankfully short, and they quickly got their packets.

They looked into each other's eyes as they opened them and said, "The inn. Room 54!" They both squealed in surprise but quickly stopped once they realised the looks everyone was giving them. But that didn't stop them from quietly giggling.

Talking about classes and old times, they make their way to the dorms.

________

"No, don't do that, it'll break!" cried Tanya, making Alita drop the pieces of the coffee table we were assembling. I came ahead to show her how to do it, fixing it in place. I looked around at the half-done living room and kitchen in front of me, mentally ticking off the things we had done when I paused while looking at the fridge. I knew I was forgetting something.

"We forgot to buy groceries!"

Tanya in response said, "We can eat in the dining hall today and buy them after dinner." Nodding in agreement I made a list of what I had to get.

___________

Standing in line waiting for the boy in front of me to finish his turn. I scrolled through the messages Tanya and Alita had sent and checked if they needed anything else when I heard somebody gasp behind me. Suddenly I felt a shove from behind me, making me drop my phone and squirt the juice I was drinking at the person in front of me.

"I am so sorry! My brother was pushing me around and I accidentally shoved you!" The person who must have shoved me was probably a girl around the age of fifteen, who looked incredibly apologetic.

"Oh, it's all right. No harm done," I said in response. The girl smiled before turning to her brother and scolding him. Right then I heard someone cough behind me.

I turned to see the boy who was standing in front of me looking at me with a furrowed brow, and before I could apologize he angrily gestured to his shirt, which was now covered in juice.

"What the hell is this?"

I looked at him straight in the eye and said,

"Juice on your shirt of course. If you can't see that you might want to get glasses."

He rolled his eyes.

"You owe me a shirt."

I blinked once, before saying: "I'm sorry, but that's unreasonable," Was this guy really serious right now? "I'm not getting you a shirt, so I suggest you buy your groceries and get on along, mister."

He sighed grumpily and paid the cashier, and got out.

I got my stuff billed, paid for it and got the hell out of there, just as Tanya called me.

"Lea come quick I got hurttttt," came Tanya's voice from the speaker of my phone. I could hear shuffling and a voice coming from the background of the call–probably Alita–and quickly decided that it was just Tanya being Tanya, instead of an actual emergency.

"Yeah, yeah. What happened that made you so injured?"

"The wood. Never will I ever build furniture ever again?"

"Yes, you will, we still need to finish the sofa and the last chair for the table."

"You can do that, I'll just sit and watch from my stretcher."

" No, you will be assembling them with me," came Alita's voice from afar.

"Will not"

"Will to"

"Will not"

"Will to"

"Will not"

"Will to"

"Stop fighting," I said between giggles.

____

The first day ended and I was finally done with classes for the day, making me able to go to the basketball court for training where I was supposed to meet the coach and the other sports captains. I reached and saw the coach talking to a guy, fairly tall, probably an inch or so more than me, with blonde hair. He looked familiar and as he turned I found out why.

"You!"
