There was a door. Ruined with scratches and holes. Faint footprints, quite new in the deep snow. A size small enough to be a child's. Behind the said door, there lies a lonely small boy.
Messy long hair with skin as white as snow. Shivering in the cold night without anything to warm him up. A small room, messy and destroyed. A single candle, the only light source, protected with glass so it may not wear out. Starved for days in the never ending snow.
Without knowing it, his eyes went dark. Going through deep slumber. "Is he dead?" A person barged in quietly. "His heart is still beating, let's bring him in."
...
"It's warm..."
...
Eyes slowly opened. It was warmer, much warmer than usual. It was also comfy, like sleeping on a cloud. The child rose up cautiously while looking around. A small room with a simple bed, a window, a table, and a wardrobe. Scratching his head, he noticed his scars from dryness were patched up.
There was another door. Stretching his legs and leaving the bed. He started approaching the said door. The floor wasn't broken so it didn't hurt his feet. A couple inches from the door handle, someone opened it first. "Ah you're awake already!" a kind smile greeted. It was a girl.
She had long red hair and big brown eyes. She seemed to only be in her mid twenties. With a smile as kind as it could be. "My name is Mylie."
The boy was given food and a warm place to live. An actual place he could live in. "What's your name little boy?" the person asked. "I.. Don't think I have a name.." He looked away. The person chuckled, "Let's find a fitting name for you shouldn't we? Let's see..."
His eyes brightened. A name to finally be called. "A name, a nameee... Ah! You're going to beee Jun!" So simple yet so exciting. This was the first time for him to feel such a thing after a long time. So grateful for till a tear went out of his eye. Taking a piece of tissue, it is wiped away. A pat on the head and these simple words, "I'll try to protect you till the end of the world."
10 years later
A little boy who was once helpless, is now a bright child who's turning 15. With parent figures so kind they guided him. It was weeks before his birthday, the day of his glee. He helped with such energy to the people that saved him.
A little farm nothing fancy, but enough to make him happy. What a coincidence of birthdate he has, his birthday is soon on June 10. He wished nothing but so that this peaceful life could never end. He stretched his arms prepared for the harvest of plants.
Mylie, his adoptive mother, helps with the cooking. And James, his adoptive father, helps harvest the crops. Such a peaceful life he loved for years. There's nothing that would make a life better with such gratefulness he felt.
A trip to the town to help with commissions. He got used to all these and met a couple of people. Received rewards such as money and even new friends. A complaint was never heard out of his mouth. "Like again, today is a blissful day." He walks back home after the profits he gained.
...
"AAAAAAAAHHHHH"
a woman's voice.
Distances away from the house, Jun could still hear this scream. Rushing back to check if anything happened, what awaited him was something he never would want to see. A man who is shot till life was taken, and a woman who was still breathing for some while.
"Mo- MOM!" Jun immediately ran in her direction. With tears that had left his eyes. He couldn't stop the bleeding. "DON'T WORRY MOM, I'LL TRY TO CALL FOR HELP-" a hand shuts his mouth. "Jun.. I know we weren't able to celebrate it but *cough* please... Enjoy your life.." Mylie's sad look turned to horror and told Jun to run away.
"RUN JUN RUN! DON'T LET THEM GET YOU." she pushed him away. A group of people appeared and had guns on their arms. "YOU PEOPLE!" And aimed for a punch at one of their faces. Before it could land, his arm was neutralized with a shot perfectly.
Screaming with pain he falls to the ground. Sobbing with the thought that he couldn't protect his parents as they saved him. Just weeks away from his birthday. This was not the wish Jun wanted. A cloth was forcefully placed on his mouth.
His vision became blurry. He could only feel the dragging along the ground. Not even a proper last word to his beloved parents who saved him years ago. In despair, the thought of him being useless has flooded his mind.
Powerless, he ends up in an unknown place. A place where something that someone would not want to experience.
