Neither short nor long hair. Skin as white as snow and the face he could never forget. "Cynthia.." Jun mumbled. The feeling of relief that she was still there, yet her body seems to not function properly. The inability to move regularly and an odd purple left eye.
He was confused. "To spare the questions, Cynthia, your dear friend said by the details of your file, is a failure of a test." Dr. Yhinth told with a suspicious smirk. Jun had the sudden thought that this would not end peacefully.
"Say, do you remember those traumatized test subjects that came back conscious right after being called?" The doctor asked. Jun could never forget such a thing. From cages of children with smiles with their friends to look of horror.
Dr. Yhinth explained that it was the lab's tradition. The tradition of exterminating a subject right in front of a close friend. Such a straightforward sentence, an enraged tired face. Wasting no time, Dr. Yhinth didn't hesitate to have his finger on top of the button.
"What I am doing is both tradition AND experiment. I truly wish for a happy life for her up there."
The sound of an average button tingles in his ear.
...
Slowly but surely, a fire emits in the tube. The screams of horror echoes through the room as her skin touches the flames. Seeing what was supposed to only be a nightmare has come true. Jun begs on the ground for Dr. Yhinth to stop only for a short yet such a cruel sentence, "The experiment had just begun."
The laughs and giggles that came out of the doctor's mouth as the poor girl desperately screams for help as her skin starts to show flesh. This truly broke Jun's heart. To lose yet another person he cared so much.
Wanting to move but stopped by the two people who acted like the chains on his hand. The sounds of banging and the heart breaking screams, this absolutely enrages Jun. All of a sudden, the lights start to flicker.
"Flickering lights? At this type of moment? Didn't we already complain about this since last week. " Dr. Yhinth complained. Without knowing it, both guards and Jun disappeared in a blink of an eye.
Confused and all but suddenly, another flicker and both guards were returned. Each with a missing arm and the large loss of blood. Shouting in pain. Frozen in place, unable to move. Dr. Yhinth can only wait for the near death. Yet another blink.
Poof
A fist, so fast even light can't compare. So close yet somehow Dr. Yhinth dodged it. Falling to the ground, hurriedly crawled towards the exit. It was very unfortunate for him though. An arm cut through him in a flash right in the abdomen.
The loss of blood that couldn't be stopped, there was no more hope for surviving. There he was, Jun, standing in front of the bleeding doctor. He came back to his senses. "Cynthia!"
Rushing towards the flaming tube, he desperately tried to find a way to get her out. No buttons and doors at all. Nothing to save her as she burns inside. Jun then noticed the card that the doctor dropped. Remembering that it was used to open the automatic door. It must be used to open the door as well.
Running towards the card and fell to grab it. He showed Cynthia, "Cynthia! Look, with this we can save you and also the others! But I need to find out how to use i-" "RUN!" she shouted. With all her energy, "Run..." She stopped breathing.
Jun backed up, he refused to believe what he had just seen. But there's still time to save the others, he thought. A piece of glass, broken from the rage of Jun. He looks at himself. A part of his face, whiter than his usual skin colour. A red mark just under his eye.
There was so way he could save the others. Seeing his own self scares him, so what will the reactions of others be? Was this the result of such a cruel experiment. The alarm sounded. Alarming the guard force outside just nearby. The sounds of footsteps, clear to the ears.
In absolute panic, noticing the door Dr. Yhinth used to come in. Picking up the card he had dropped and hopped out with all the energy left. Spotted by those guards yet not giving up. In the other side of the door, there were two hallways to different areas. "Ugh... No time to waste, it's not like I have anything to lose." He ran.
Choosing a certain hallway, he figured there would be more scientists. Escaping with a simple run wouldn't be easy. With the results he got with his own body. Skillfully passing those groups of people with his speed. Though unable to control it fully. He ended up tripping over himself and stumbled to the ground.
Hurt, he noticed a sign. A sign that could lead to his wanted outcome. "Exit" His eyes lit up and hurriedly picked himself up. A simple swipe of a card, he may finally be free. The door opened, "Finally..." With the sad thoughts of the ones that are sacrificed.
Running through that door, may not be the true exit of the whole lab, he finally sees nature again. The green trees and starry night. The slight breeze that he enjoys every time. Wanting to finally rest but cannot. The guards after him will also not stop.
The uncontrollable speed that compares to no human beings. He takes off and rushes, to somewhere far that could not be seen. Through the forest through the sleeping city, through the tunnels and through places even teeny.
To stop and rest on a sandy beach, the moon shines over with a shade that's so nice to see. Just as he thought the nightmare was finally over, a needle shot to the neck he felt just as he rested his body. Fainting in the middle of the night, the effects of a small shot, why can't he predict.
Closing his eyes, it's so blurry. The tears that flowed thinking,
"I'm so sorry."
