"Um, Elora? Who's that?" Jade whispered, gently elbowing her friend. While it felt like the aura of the person in the middle was suffocating her, in reality, it had no physical effects. "Hm?" Elora glanced up, her eyes settling on the person.

"Oh." she smirked, "The middle one is Arlis, and the other two are his friends. He's not around much, but when he is, he gets everyone's attention. No one knows who he is, no one knows how he is, no one knows what he is, but I say he's one mighty fine piece of ass." Elora licked and bit her lip, causing Jade to cringe.

"Elora, ew! Nasty!" Elora shrugged, staring at him with hungry eyes. "He's hot as hell, and so are his friends. What I wouldn't do to get in on that hot stuff." she sighed. "They never talk to anyone, only to each other. No one knows anything about them, what makes them tick. They are single-handedly the most mysterious guys in this entire building. Everyone talks about them, I'm amazed that you haven't heard anything yet yourself." Jade furrowed her eyebrows. Something was terribly wrong. Sure, humans had the ability to be all mysterious and secretive like this, but with the swirling of pack wolf scents in the air around her, Jade was growing increasingly worried that these weren't the humans she hoped they were. She tried to act normal, for the sake of not jumping the gun.

"They sound pretty strange."

"Oh, for sure, but it doesn't matter because they're hot."

"Elora."
"Okay, okay, I'm sorry, damn."

Jade watched from beside Elora as they walked down the hallway. All of her senses were heightened and on edge. If they were in fact werewolves, then running too early would only tell their primal instincts to chase her. She had to play this cool. Maybe they wouldn't pick up on her. They were sticking their noses out as if sniffing for something, just as Jade had when she first detected the middle one's–Arlis's–aura. Just her luck, it was Arlis who turned in their direction, looking right at them, right at Jade.

"Elora." she prompted softly, grabbing her friend's arm and tugging a bit. Elora huffed and tried to shake her off. The alarm bells were more than going off, they were a constant shriek at this point as Jade resisted the urge to bolt.

"Let me appreciate these hot guys." she waved off her friend, seemingly not caring to notice the boys' advancement towards them.

Jade didn't want to think about the smell of fear that was probably radiating from her as she watched their pace pick up a bit, tugging harder on Elora's arm.

"Elora, kind of important!" don't make eye contact with them don't make eye contact with them don't mak– shit! The amber eyes of Arlis had snagged Jade's green ones, and it was like she was paralyzed. She couldn't look away, a harsh shiver creeping down her spine. The color was different from the bright red seen in the eyes of rogues. His eyes were like the smoldering embers of a campfire, dark, and glowing, and- getting closer.

"Elora!" she cried, yanking on her arm. "What??" an exasperated Elora finally responded, but it was too late. Jade broke the enchanting eye contact, sprinting for the closest door behind her.

Jade could hear loud shouting behind her as the trio saw her run. She didn't turn back around, pumping her short legs as fast as they would go. Jade quickly rounded a corner, slammed open the set of double doors that stood in front of her, and hightailed it down the hall. The pattern of yellow, blue, and white tiles passed by in a blur beneath her beaten-up sneakers. The broad front entrance was in sight, all Jade had to do was reach it, and she would be free. It was too bad that she had underestimated the power of the three guys chasing her. She heard the patting of their feet getting close, breath caught in her throat as she tried to dig in and go faster. Sure, she wasn't as fast as normal wolves, but she should be able to leave a couple humans in the dust with ease! There was no doubt in her mind that they were more than just a couple of normal teenagers. Jade could barely breathe as she choked on the static energy.
