Flora's older brothers, Damien and Levi , exchanged a knowing look as they sat across from each other at the carriage table. It had been a few days since their conversation about their parents, and now the time had come to break the news to Flora. They had decided to do it together, hoping that their united front would bring her some comfort.
"Damien , do you think Flora is ready to hear about Mom and Dad's visit?" Levi asked, his voice filled with concern.
Levi sighed, running a hand through his unruly brown hair. "I'm not sure, Oliver. But we can't keep it a secret forever. They'll be arriving in just a few days, and we have to prepare her for their visit."
Flora, who had been sitting in a carrige with her friends , was confused when her brother's came and stole her away from them . Her big brown eyes were wide with curiosity as she looked up at her brothers.
"What's going on?" she asked, her voice barely a whisper.
Levi leant over to her level, his gentle smile attempting to mask his worry. "Hey there, Flora. We have something important to tell you. Mom and Dad are coming to visit us."
Flora's psychically gulped , her definetly an done if the others walked away with an injury everytime they came to visit .
Her eyes began to well up with tears. "What if someone sees them ? Were lucky enough no one ever has ?"
Zachary's heart ached at the vulnerability in her voice. He reached out and pulled her into a comforting embrace. "Flora, they're coming at night no one will see ."
Flora buried her face in Zachary's shoulder, her small frame trembling with emotion. "I love them but I'm sick of them hurting us when is it going to stop?."
He gently stroked her hair, his voice soft and soothing. "We know, Flora. It was hard for all of us when they have to come but it's happening , let's just get it over and done with' .
After what felt like an eternity, Flora's sobs began to subside. She sniffled and looked up at her brothers, her eyes red and puffy but a glimmer of hope shining through. "Promise me you'll say something ," she pleaded.
Levi and Damien exchanged a solemn look . "We can't make that promise, Flora," Oliver said gently. "But we can promise that we'll always be here for you, no matter what happens' .
