Flora's return to Hogwarts filled her heart with a mix of anticipation and trepidation. As she stepped off the train and made her way through the bustling corridors, she couldn't help but feel a wave of excitement at making new  friends. However, she also carried a heaviness within her, knowing that her family was waiting somewhere in the castle.

As she walked through the dimly lit corridor, Flora's steps slowed when she spotted her three older brothers, Zachary, Damien, and Levi, standing a short distance away. Relief washed over her, and she hurried toward them, a smile brightening her face. Her parents stood by their side, their expressions stern and unwelcoming.

Flora approached her family cautiously, sensing an unspoken tension in the air. "Mum, Dad," she greeted them, her voice filled with hope. "I'm glad to see you."

Her father's face hardened, his voice laced with disdain. "Flora," he replied curtly, his disapproval evident. "We need to have a discussion."

Her mother's cold eyes scanned Flora, her voice equally chilly. "You have been a disgrace to this family," she stated, her words cutting through the air like icy shards. "We did not raise you to associate with such lowly company."

Flora's heart sank, the warmth she had carried from her friends quickly replaced by a wave of hurt and confusion. She glanced at her brothers, hoping for support, but their gazes were downcast, their silence deafening.

Her father's voice dripped with scorn. "You will distance yourself from those miscreants immediately," he demanded, his words laced with bitterness. "We will not tolerate any further embarrassment."

Tears welled up in Flora's eyes, her voice trembling as she spoke. "But they're my friends," she pleaded, her voice barely above a whisper. "They've shown me kindness and acceptance."

Her mother's lips twisted into a contemptuous sneer. "Friends," she spat, her tone dripping with disdain. "You don't deserve friends. You need to remember your place and uphold our family's reputation."

Flora's heart ached at her parents' harsh words. She had always longed for their acceptance and love, but now, in this moment, she felt rejected and abandoned.

Zachary, Damien, and Levi exchanged uneasy glances, the weight of their parents' disapproval evident on their faces. Flora turned to them, seeking solace and understanding, but their silence only deepened her despair.

In that dark corridor, Flora felt a deep sense of loneliness and betrayal. The familiar warmth of her friends' acceptance seemed like a distant memory, overshadowed by her parents' harsh words. She struggled to make sense of the conflicting emotions swirling within her.

As her parents continued their scathing remarks, Flora's resolve began to falter. Doubts crept into her mind, clouding her once unwavering belief in the power of friendship. She questioned her own worth, wondering if she truly belonged among her friends or if her parents were right.

'But they're my friends , they have took a chance on me'.

'Please'
'She looked to her brother's again to see if they'd offer her any sort of support' however they remained unfazed , Flora choked out a sob .

They were finally turning on her too??

She couldn't believe it .

'No they're my friends , i'm going to hang out with them' she defended herself .

'Did you not hear what I just said' her father asked taking a grip on her wrist .

Digging his fingers into the once sore flesh.

'Please let go , please your hurting me' she begged , tears trickling down her face .

That only made him press harder , she had experience with this , abuse , no she couldn't call it that .

It wasn't really , it's what she deserved she thought , for misbehaving .

His grip was leaving a bruise and his fingernails were now drawing blood .

'You better behave' her mother says leaning down to her face , smoothing her thumb across her face in an unsettling way .

That was the memory she was left with when her parents walked away and left the castle .

She sank down to the floor .

This is when her brother's tried to talk to her .

'Flora , look i'm sor-' Damien started. .

'Go away' she sobbed , all of you , you just stood there' she said looking up at them .

God it was horrible , you could see the vulnerability and feeling of betrayal in her eyes .

'Go , please just go' she pleaded again .

They slowly left.

That word ,

Please .

Meant nothing no one listened , not her parents , her brother's , her ex boyfriend , old friends .

She'd been so hard done by , by the world .
She still tried to be a happy and smiling person around everyone else , but she didn't know how long it was till the mask would break .
