You walked back to the train station after school. It was a long day and you were exhausted. You just wanted to go home and finish your homework for the day.
Of course, the day wasn't over yet. As you reached the station, you learned that the trains would not be running all evening.
This was bad. Your home was quite far away. You couldn't go on foot. There were no buses nearby either and you didn't have enough money to get a cab.
Just as you were about to reluctantly call someone to ask if they could pick you up, you felt a tap on your shoulder.
"I'm guessing you don't have a ride home?"
It was the boy you saw that morning. The one with Hana.
"Um... do I know you?" you asked, hoping he'd leave you alone. You didn't want anything to do with someone from Hana's group.
He looked a little taken aback, then sighed.
"I take the train too. I saw you this morning"
Oh. So that's why he was staring at you.
"Anyway, I borrowed a bicycle. I can give you a ride if you want" he offered.
"Aren't you Hana's boyfriend? Us sharing one bike together... doesn't that feel wrong to you?" you asked. You thought he was trying to hit on you. If Hana found out, your life would be over even if you said no. So you just wanted him to get away from you as soon as possible.
"Whoa there, I'm not making a move on you. I just wanted to help. Also Hana and I... we're complicated. I wouldn't say I'm really her boyfriend. Anyway, if you don't wanna come, I'll just get going by myself. See ya" he said as he started peddling away.
He didn't look back. 'It doesn't seem like he's interested'.
Also his situation with Hana was complicated? He wasn't just leading her on was he? Or is it the other way around?
It wasn't any of your business. Though... you could've really used that ride..
"H-hey wait up!" you said, running after him.
He smiled and stopped. "Hop on"
You sat down awkwardly, limiting the physical contact as much as you could.
"Alright, where do you live?"
"You can drop me off at the station you saw me come from this morning"
"Sure"
There was a moment of silence. It was somewhat relaxing.
"So... are you and Hana friends?"
"I knew her when we were younger. What about you? You say you're not in a relationship but I saw you two kiss this morning"
"Oh um I think I'm gonna break up with her soon. I don't actually see her that way"
Strange. He somewhat avoided the question. Also.. he doesn't see her that way? It felt so strange to hear someone say that about Hana. Everyone loved her.
"Hey will you be at Hana's party this weekend?" he asked suddenly.
You really didn't want to talk about it. You just want to get the weekend over with.
"Yeah but I don't really want to go"
"Oh? Not a party person?"
"Haha yeah. Hana was... nice enough to invite me though so I feel obligated to show up."
"It won't be that bad" he reassured you, "there will be good food, and you can leave early if you want"
"Yeah I guess... the food better be worth it"
"Oh you bet it will. Hana put me in charge" he laughed.
"Hmm we'll see about that" you said, smiling.
You could see the station getting closer. It was a shame. You were having a pretty good time.
"Alright we're here. Get home safe" he said, stopping and letting you get down.
"Thanks for the ride" you said, waving.
He waved back and turned around.
'He really was just trying to help me out' you thought. Despite how fun it was, you were still skeptical that he might've been trying to flirt with you behind Hana's back or something. You didn't like Hana, but it would still be very wrong. You were worried he might've been a creep too.
'He didn't try to press for me to tell him where I lived after I just told him to drop me off at the station, he didn't ask for my number. He didn't even ask for my name' You paused.
'Wait..'
'Oh my gosh I don't know his name' your cheeks flushed red with embarrassment.
But maybe it was better this way. He might've been chill but he was still a part of Hana's group. Would you really want to see him again? Since dropping you off was simply a polite gesture, the two of you might not even bump into each other again.
'Wait but he goes on the same train as me. We will be seeing each other regularly.'
You decided to ask for his name on the train the next day and restrict your interactions to just saying hi from that point onwards.
Your trust issues ran deep. You had been through a lot of shit in the past for you to keep your guard up. You didn't want to risk getting close to someone who seems close to Hana. You barely had one conversation with the guy. You don't know his true intentions.
Lost in thought, you didn't realize that you had already reached home.
It was a long day. You were glad to be back.

A/n: First Suna interaction ya'll >.< it wasn't a lot but I'm so excited to be writing about him finally. The rest of the volleyball teams gonna come into the picture soon too! Also I said this already but just saying it again. Suna and y/n don't cheat. Nothing like that happens so don't worry. You won't feel guilty at all when the 'moments' start.
