TW: very minor swearing, mentions of death
'This was it. In a few moments my colours would be taken, then what? I'd end up being depressed and nothing more but a pawn for testing?
I'd certainly wouldn't let that happen, especially not to me.'
It could've been a miracle, or luck, or a blessing. But in the exact room where I was being taken into, there was an explosion. Destroyed completely.
If that room didn't explode, who knows what would be happening to me at this moment.
I returned to my cage with a scoff from the scientists that took me, as I returned. That exact same creature came to me, "I see they let you go?" It tilted it's head. "Yeah, an explosion saved my ass.." I sighed in relief. "In good timing too." The creature turned it's head to look at something, as I turned to see what he was looking at, I saw the concreted hole again. "It's done?" I looked back. The creature nodded it's head.
"We'll have to be careful.. One wrong move and all of us are thrown into the grinder. Dead." I shivered as the creature finished that sentence. "We should get going then." The creature nodded. We stop at the corner, before carefully tearing the concrete down. The hole was seemingly large, but it was narrow as well. I stick my body in, and noticed it was pitch dark, I sigh as I started to crawl. *optional: I tuck my wings along my sides, folding them as much as I can as I crawled*
As I crawled, I heard shouting behind me. The sounds of roars and growls, howls and other pain noises shook the tunnel. Looking behind me, I noticed nobody came with me.. Not even the creature. I crawled as fast as I could, there would be no way those guards would catch me.
Now, I smelled a horrid smell, out of surprise I held my breath as I continued to speed crawl. I saw a dim light, as well as moving water. As I reached the end of the tunnel, I peaked my head out of the end of the tunnel, realizing that I was in a sewer system. I crawl out, as I land on my feet.
'Soo.. I'm finally out then.. right?' I looked around, seeing if there were any guards or scientists.. But it was just me, standing alone in an underground system. Alone.
**Sorry for being such a short chapter, wanted to get this out as soon as possible so you guys can still read, I'll get the next chapter out soon!!**
**P.S- I wanted this book to be relatively small lol**
